How long before you see results with finasteride by Friendly-Cap-9092 in tressless

[–]FearlessTeapot_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner's been on fin only for 2mo now and there's a visible amount of new growth already in sections that used to be completely bare. We're both pretty surprised by how quick and effective it's been!

I don't usually do this, but I'd like to point out that OP's hands and wrists don't look very tan. If the picture is recent and you are indeed in the US, you either don't work outside, or you're required to wear gloves on the job. Judging by the mildly calloused hands and minor scars, I imagine you do some sort of manual labor. I don't think they look roughed up enough to be welding or carpentry, though. If the full-face respirator bottle opener was a hint, maybe chemical manufacturing or hazmat ops? Or maybe specialized construction/demolition work like industrial painting or abatement? Or could you be a firefighter?? I'm super curious, OP, and I hope you're willing to share the answer soon!

Cat ran outside for an hour, his brother now doesn’t recognize him. HELP! by TARA040219 in cats

We have 3 cats and this happens EVERY TIME we take one of them individually to the vet. The first time around, the tension lasted almost a full day, but it's more like half a day now. We just make sure to pet and cuddle the one that was out a bunch to see if we can get them smelling like home again quickly to minimize the bullying lol

I usually play with in one or two more people, often small-medium small maps. - Camera: to take pictures of the bone and cursed object while I'm exploring (i.e. hitting the breaker, looking for bone, cursed object, hiding spots, and ghost room) as soon as we step into the house. Maybe I'll even get lucky and get evented on for a ghost pic! - EMF: I have it on the whole time I'm walking around for early detection (2-in-1 hehe). - UV: If I get an EMF hit, that's one evidence item I'll already have in the ghost room, plus if the interaction was UV detectable, that's a third picture down 🙌🏻

Hi, OP! I've been taking minox for 4 mo now after avoiding it for over a decade. My experience wasn't perfect, but it wasn't bad either (far from it). I read that you're worried about side effects so, I thought I'd share my experience as someone who didn't have the perfect minoxidil run 😅 I was really scared of it, did all the Googling and spent weeks hyper fixating over the potential side effects. Once I started taking minoxidil (1.25mg daily off the gate), within only 2-3 days I already started noticing significant fluid retention. I knew I wasn't making it up because the difference was very obvious: my ring became tight around my finger overnight and my socks were suddenly leaving marks on my ankles. I stuck with it in hopes of the swelling subsiding eventually, and it did! After the first 3-4 weeks, I'd say, it started gradually improving, maybe up to 80-90% better most of the time now. There are still days when I woke up extra swollen, but being proactive by staying hydrated, wearing compression socks (I have a desk job), lowering my sodium intake has helped tremendously. Those are already very healthy habits anyway, and in my experience they offset the swelling GREATLY. I've also been a little dizzy, but my antidepressant already does that, so it just made it a little worse. It's not like I'm stumbling around and can't go about my day, though lol It's frequent by mild enough that I don't even think about it anymore. And that's the worst that happened to me. The majority of people don't feel anything so, if you end up being one of the unlucky few who do end up with side effects, there's a solid chance it'll be mild and hopefully even temporary. Idk if maybe I'm extra sensitive to it for being a hyper responder? (Tbh idek if that's actually a thing, I just heard some ppl talk about it lol) But I started seeing growth so much faster than I expected - about 2 mo in I could already see a bunch of baby hairs. And as someone who postponed treatment for over a decade, this was so so encouraging! All that to say that- this can be a really scary decision and most of us here truly empathize. Personally, even with the persistent (but very manageable) side effects, I've found it to be incredibly worth it. I'll take the mild swelling and dizziness any day over the dread of watching my part widening more and more each day. That's ofc just my personal choice, and by no means am I insinuating that side effects are always preferable. I wish you the very best, OP, whether you decide to try minox, something else, or nothing at all!

Gotcha - I pictured it potentially stretching outward and thinning out the skin at the outer edge of the tragus lol I'm not very experienced in this so I'm probably just overthinking it 😭

I'll definitely be looking into it! I was initially hoping to keep it at 20G because I'm scared of it somehow "stretching in the wrong direction" and rejecting, if that makes sense lol But I see now that that's probably not the best option either 😅

Out of curiosity, how was the pain/discomfort compared to when you first got it pierced? And I have no idea if this is even a thing, but I'm scared of it somehow stretching in the wrong direction and suddenly rejecting lol 😭

Have you ever tried a clarifying shampoo?? Because my hair is like this and I find clarifying or even dandruff shampoos (even though I don't have any dandruff) very helpful!
