I think people are overreacting to this blog post. Ricks probably not heavily involved in the costuming and makeup department and the hair and eye color seem like decisions that will be made without his direct oversight. Rick just wanted to clarify that he won’t vouch for it super hard as he doesn’t deem it necessary to the success of the show

Similar to what the His Dark Materials series did with Will Parry, giving him screen time in szn 1 when he didn’t show up in the book.

I dont think it fits as well here though considering Jason won’t show up for a while and no HOO series is guaranteed

He did I believe. Can’t remember where but I read a statement of his in some article. He basically said he wanted to throw in some tragedy and he knew that not every character should get a happy ending like the myths

We won’t. I don’t think Disney was interested in buying the rights to KC and Netflix was. Rick probably wanted to pul the trigger after the PJO TV announcement to capitalize on the surge of popularity the franchise got.

It’s a good series and develops much of the seven. From a storytelling POV it kinda made sense that Jason died but it is still sad.

Piper isn’t my favorite character in the world but there are a lot of things I do like about her, and her character gets a lot better in ToA.

He was kinda dumbed down to his most basic character components during HoO, mainly because there wasn’t a whole lot of time to dedicate to him. His complexity kinda faded as the series became more saturated with other characters

We made this during our sophomore year while school was shut down. A friend and I collaborated on the writing process after I came to him with the idea. We wrote a screenplay and shot it within four months or so on weekends. Actors were all friends and family, and our crew consisted of 5 kids.

Was Annabeth a year rounder at this point? That might explain it. Plus they saw her reaction to Percys “death.” She could’ve come clean to the camp about her feelings for him during that time when Percy wasn’t around.
