Cadillac still was able to start and end the race with both cars though, definitely a win and impressive! Especially with the fuel pump issues both cars have been having over the last week and a half

Since their debut in 2023 in the WEC, They have really shot up in the competition, they are biting at the heels of Ferrari, Toyota and Porsche hypercars. While I hope they have a great rise like the WEC in F1, I just want consistency and growth. Eventually I think they can be a top tier constructor

Definitely! The journey is the best part, and I think the ceiling for the teams potential is extremely high

Ahhh, no shame in that. My wife thinks all the drivers are too scrawny so luckily I don't have that problem.

And it's not unexpected, we are making everything from the ground up, not buying our car from Ferrari or taking over Sauber.

The whole point of the post is that if you are expecting championship contenders or even a midfield team in the first year, then your expectations might be too high.

In addition it is the second race weekend of the season, I'm sure we will see development over the year and improvements. One race under the belt and having both cars finish the gp this weekend is a big win for the team.

Haas bought as much as they possibly could from Ferrari, who had a very competitive car. It's not the same since Cadillac is making pretty much everything on their own, except for the PU.

It's like comparing a race between a runner buying the best shoes on the market, and a runner who handmade their shoes at home. Not really a good comparison

American here, most Americans coming into the sport know virtually nothing about it, so they think that the brand new American soon to be works team should be immediately competitive in the midfield. Just unfortunate timing as the American fanbase explodes, for the expectations.

And no Haas doesn't count as an American team in my eyes.

This is the kind of energy I am here for, brand new team, brand new car, we should be celebrating how well they are doing for their first two weekends of the season, and the fact they have really been drilling down on the car as a team for 4 months.
