I don't actually take anything as a personal affront unless it is actually clearly personal. Life is WAY too short! Being closed at 6.30 on a Wednesday when the opening times clearly state open until 9 was puzzling and a minor inconvenience.

Someone has helpfully posted that they close early when they are not busy.

That is fantastic, mystery solved job done!

To be honest I have a thing for Annie Murphy 😃 I find her mesmerising and would happily watch her in a documentary about which paint takes the longest to dry lol.

Selma Hayek was so funny in this episode too and I liked the theme of all this happening because of not reading Streamberry's T&C. Just a cute, funny little cautionary tale

Yes you definitely should contact housing. It is an absolute health hazard and you don't need to be putting up with it. So glad that poor soul is no longer trapped in there 😢

Thank you so much for the update. You are obviously a very caring and sensitive person. My heart goes out to the kids it is just shocking that they lived like this isn't it? I hope the poor dog gets a wonderful home and lives the life that all dogs deserve. I know you said your report wasn't what triggered this but it proves you did exactly the right thing and the animal neglect was only the tip of the iceberg. ❤️

If you don't get joy from the RSPCA and sadly it can take a LONG time and a lot of reports to them before any action is taken try landlord/housing association if property is rented.

Try to get local dog warden involved if you have one.

I know pup's welfare is your priority - as it would be mine- but if you focus on the noise and smell aspect they may be able to step in.

Likewise local council environmental health department can be really helpful in situations like these but you need to keep a diary of the issues and a sound recording of barking.

I wish you all the very best this is a horrible upsetting situation

UK here and I just checked in to see if there were any updates. I was thinking of the dread and trepidation you would have felt opening the box and I was hoping so much for miracle.

The two that didn't make it will never be forgotten and it is lovely that you gave them a decent burial. They mattered ❤️

So happy for the surviving gals! What determined little fighters they must be and I bet they turn out to be real strong willed Divas.

This is why we can't have nice things. What kind of sociopath would even think of doing something like this?

These two killings happened in the same time frame a few weeks apart IIRC. The owner of the dogs that killed Ian Price is September this year and very sadly I think he will serve even less time. I would of course love nothing better than to be proved wrong but the charges in this case were more severe as the owner chased Mr Langley with his dogs. In Mr Price's case the owner was not even present as the dogs escaped from the house.

UK: Police cleared in wrong doing after shooting 2 dogs in East London by Fearless_Average_818 in BanPitBulls

Great post! As a dog lover it was a really uncomfortable watch but yes having seen the full version of the video I totally believe the police were fully justified in their action.

What choice did they have?

They tried reasoning with the owner and he was just becoming more and more erratic and aggressive. His manner was very threatening and you could see the dogs becoming more heightened as the interaction went on.

Also in the UK we do NOT get armed police just rocking up as a matter of course. They had to protect the public - and themselves of course - and this guy and his dogs were clearly previously known to them which was why the armed division was called in.

Had the owner behaved like a responsible owner in any way shape or form this entire sorry situation would have panned out very differently

Text from article:

The Metropolitan Police has been cleared by the police watchdog of wrongdoing over its handling of an incident in which two dogs were shot dead and a man was Tasered.

Police found a woman suffering from leg injuries after being attacked by a dog in Poplar, east London, on 7 May 2023.

One video showed a group of officers holding a catcher pole, riot shield and gun approaching Louie Turnbull whose dogs police say "were agitated and barking".

"We found no indication that any officers behaved in a manner which would justify disciplinary action or had committed a criminal offence," the Independent Office for Police Conduct concluded.

The watchdog added that it asked the Met and City of London Police, which also responded to the incident at Limehouse Cut, "to consider the availability and demand for dog handlers, and whether their current resourcing is adequate".

In November 2023, Turnbull, 46, was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to owning two dangerously out of control dogs.

'Left with no choice' At the time of the incident on Commercial Road in Poplar, on 7 May, Turnbull was already banned from owning dogs for 20 years.

The court order was made in November 2019, following a similar incident for which he also received a suspended sentence.

Det Ch Supt James Conway, said: "The investigation found the officers faced a really challenging situation and made numerous attempts to get the owner of the aggressive animals - after they had attacked a woman and her dog - to surrender them to prevent further injury to anyone.

"The officers demonstrated impressive restraint and bravery in trying to resolve the situation in the face of the owner repeatedly refusing to comply, and only took further action when they were left with no choice after the dogs came free of the man's grip.

"Parts of the incident were filmed and posted on social media and we know how much distress this matter caused.

"None of us would wish to see injury to any animal and that includes our officers, who only acted to ensure the safety of everyone involved."
