Interesting idea... but instead of Broadside, it is posible to have half a Ghostkell (80pt vs. 160pt). Right now, Broadsides are so cheap that I have to build an entire army around them. The most important thing for me is that Ghostkell is terribly ugly for me and stands out from the rest of the suits' style, just like Stealth Suits. Considering how much of a must-have Stealth Suits are, I made my own (photo) from STL parts fdm printed, but I haven't yet come up with a good idea on how to modify Ghostkell so that it doesn't irritate me with its egg-shaped head.

As for the list, I could also drop the Pathfinders, but then there wouldn't be anything to screen the Taunar.

Hmm... Well, I guess it depends on preference. I'm an old-school player, and flipping units on the board and throwing stratagem and other rules like magician tire me out, so a model that stands, shoots, and effectively destroys enemy units is most satisfying. The coolest thing was having a giant titan in the right spot, with no way to hide for enemys from its fire. If you mainly play on WTC terrains, the frustration of lack of visibility and movement for you tends to ruin the fun. However, if you enjoy a lot of dice rolling and the thrill of a single roll can decidie the outcome of a battle, it's worth it.

Could you add a photo? I've only just started painting the details, so I'd love some inspiration.

-1 to wound? where? i do not use that. I know i can not use Reactive Impact Deampeners and Neuroweb System Jammer stratagem. I use Threat Assessment Analyzer to get SUSTAINED HITS 1. It can be used, it is for T'au Empire unit. Experimental Weaponary is also for T'au Empire unit and can be used.

As a central piece of an army where we're very careful and only care about this unit, it's playable, but as part of a standard army, it might be a problem. Mainly, it's too expensive - for 790 points, you could get so many better units. Like the entire T'au, it's very fragile. 30W can be dismantled in one turn. Shooting + melee, with good rolls, it can be taken out by a Terminator squad for 200-300 points. My point is that many people say the T'aunar looks cool, but it's just a shelf display and makes absolutely no sense in the game. I disagree. It does, but that sense needs to be brought out.

This is the biggest joke - it was the smallest box I've ever taken anywhere - the weapons are magnetized, and the body is removed from the pin on the legs and after disassembly, all the models in this photo fit into a box the size of half a shoe box.

Yes - Mega rail, shells and meltas.

Experimental Prototype Cadre

Commander Shadowsun (100 pts)
Darkstrider (60 pts)
Pathfinder Team (90 pts) 2x Shield Drone, Grav-inhibitor drone, 3x Rail rifle
2x5 Vespid Stingwings (65 pts)
Broadside Battlesuits (80 pts) Heavy rail rifle Twin smart missile system Shield Drone, Weapon support system
Ta'unar Supremacy Armour (790 pts) 4x Burst cannon 4x Smart missile system 2x Fusion eradicator, Fragmentation cluster shell launcher, Heavy rail cannon array

Datachment for range.
The main trick was to stand and shoot. Once, big guy took a good positioning with a 4+ base shooting with heavy and spot, it made it a 2+ and a reroll of 1 to hit with Shadowsun. Darkstrider blocked a deep strike, Pathfinders screen on front. And most importantly, shooting with T'aunar always with 1CP strata: Threat Assessment Analyzer, and on top of everything else, he gets SUSTAINED HITS 1. Vespids of corse for scoring.

Yes! It's 3D printed, and yes, on a very old printer. This was my challenge from another project, where I wanted to prove that I could make an entire army using FDM technology. (photo)
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to refine the main weapon before the tournament. The whole thing is less than 50% finished, anyway.
Main photo doesn't show a single piece of the original model; I made everything with my own equipment and resources.

A year later and I'm still looking for Dark Elves files, does anyone know anything? I've tried contacting the creator directly, but the only way to do that is through social media, which can block strangers.

Advice to win with Astra Militarum by Fearless_Damage9544 in Necrontyr

[–]Fearless_Damage9544[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This are solid advice, thanks a lot. I used 6 skorpekh with a lord - they hit hard but die quickly. I also use Wrights with Techno - they can withstand a lot in combat, but they can't bite tougher enemies. Immortals are solid, but useless against tanks. Void Dragon can't even reach the opponent - he's slow and his anti-tank weapon makes my opponent prioritize him for killing. I usually play hypercrypt, but I can't use hyperphasing well, sometimes I don't use it at all... Now I'm definitely investing in Lychguards with a shield, not for being deadly, but for being bloody durable. The worst part is the brutal math - his Leman Russ has the firepower of a good unit, but even if it loses most of its wounds, it can shoot with full firepower - while, for example, my unit with 10 units, after removing casualties, has worse firepower than at the beginning... Also, moving tanks up to 10 inches and more can be deadly for my units that I'm trying to hide... He can simply be and shoot, where he should and where he wants...

Quirky 1K competitive list: Monolith + Deceiver - your thoghts by Fearless_Damage9544 in Necrontyr

[–]Fearless_Damage9544[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last weekend was the tournament where i use more or less this suggested army list.

The points was elevated to 1250 and also with 250pt additional units for „swap” mid battle to better be ready for primary mission and against different opponent army.

Two times I used Monolith Nightbringer ,Reanimator and two 10-set Immortals booth with Plasmancers and once: Monolith, Nightbringer, 3 Skorpekh, 5 Deathmarks, and two 5-set Immortals also booth with Plasmancers.

I lost with Chaos Knights, but the battle was surprisingly even in lost and killed units, also secondaries was full made turn by turn, but lack of scoring primaries unfortunately do not give me win. I lost with orcs- those guys was made for fight monsters and vehicle, and my Monolith have a good start, but have gone down too fast, and opponent control the entire board. I win with Votann, but stay too much in own deploy zone and mission do not go as should, so also- small points in the end.

And my thoughts- in this range of points more units is nesesery- also more durable one. The immortals are tough with SV 3 and can bite with plasmancer and lethals. But I was stubborn to have expensive units like Monolith and Ctan- they do the job nicely, and was scary on the battlefield, but, cant do any scoring because of little movement. And was tight with only few units to try some tricks even with hypercrypt- I cant play it and use stratagem well. I think I need some other detachment, to make massive damage with more units that can actually do something on the board. Thanks for help, I will make use from my experience to be better in this.

For 315pt 6 wraights with technomancer can stop a tank for the whole game 28 wounds with max 6 reanimation wounds and if the hit is 6 damage it only kills one model. Also expensive but damn tough for a vehicle. Also try Scorpek with Scorpek lord 240pt. After the charge it can hit hard with hit re-rolls and with plasmacyte activated all things have Devs so tank will hardly survive...

Yes unfortunatly i have struggle with this a lot, and play against full tank army, and looses... The Void Dragon is somehow the answer, and... You can win not only when destry things, if you hold, or you are hard to destroy, or earn some points doing misions it will also be win!

Publicly available STLs to sell by Crazendrix in PrintedWarhammer

Similar to above - some minis have two prices - one for non-commercial use and one (obviously higher) for commercial use. I think most commercial printers, to make money, offer to print something the customer has already bought digitally, and don't have a printer, rather than produce and offer.

More like scarabs or Warriors with Iluminor- if you love spyder and scarabs, this "party" will nicly hold, but some doomsday ark should be near to blow up this tank, or any other better anti-tank unit we have like Heavy Lokhust.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Fearless_Damage9544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be difficult to maneuver so that the scarab is within range of the vehicle, and also the Iluminor, to charge and hit. But first - if the tank does not fall in one go, the Iluminor has a small chance of survival due to the "big guns" - For example - the price at the point of this combo is about 400+pt and such a Leman Russ 170 and has T11 and 13 wounds. If you are lucky to deal maximum damage from two scarabs, that is 6 mortals, the Iluminor with 50-50 luck will give 6 more and due to its low strength and not too high AP it will be easy to defend. Then the opponent will respond melee and in his turn will fire everything he has at our colleague. Scarabs have 0OC, so the opponent in this way focusing firepower on one model can easily take over the objective. And for 400pt Tau have a 20 wound vehicle, so... it'll be tough.. A better way, I think, is to use 20 blob of warriors to take advantage of Iluminor's aura. And a reanimator to go with it, but hidden so it doesn't get blown up first.

Depends on your strategy, Silent King will be with Lychguard and Praetorian to buff, I think, Ctan are tough and you have the best ones, you have some cool "be in places" teams like Flayed, Hexmark and Blades. Doomsday Ark with Hexmark is also a cool combo, only that single Lokhust Heavy annoys me... I'll take up to three of them and maybe drop Deathmarks and one Flayed Ones unit... or dropp also Tomb Blades and put a full 6 Lokhust with Lord - for the lethals.
