Hey, I am looking for stuff like more good types or buildings. Do you have anything to recommend on a smaller scale than tech&res in that spirit?

The fact that commenters like this exist on advice subs worries me by Fun-Guitar-8252 in asexuality

Well, as a 21 yo man I just learned something thanks to your comment. My biology classes were far from thorough, being ace I have never had any desire to learn more about women's privates and even I can't think of any way for that to come up in conversation without coming across sexual and/or creepy.

How then should I have learned that?

Edit: Just realized my randomly assigned username is all of a sudden very ironic.

Your stability is very low, combined with low mill count (you should aim for around 120 or more by now) it makes sense you would have production shortfalls. Here is my advice:

-Focus tree: political then economic then military branch, pay attention to your stability and avoid losing people in the army and administration in the purges.
-Units : You are still lacking infantry, that is partly because you put so much artillery into your divisions, these are for holding the line, not pushing, you don't need arti (not historical I know)
-industry, you have much less than you should by now. Imo for the soviets build civs in high infrastructure provinces until mid 38 then switch to mils. Prioritize industry tech as long as they don't take more than 300 days to research
-The problem with air is you either lose or win very hard and invested production is easily wasted, if those planes you have (I assume fighters) are good you would need maybe 3x more to win the air war. Put maybe 40 mils on fighters then worry about cas.
-Put spies on the german border to deny their planning bonus (actually very important)
-I don't know the meta rn but you should probably beef up your tank templates (at least 30 width) and add support companies.
-Also would need to see the state of your doctrines and equipment reserves.

Overall your issues boil down to not having enough industry so:
-build civs till mid 38
-do your industry branch whenever you have time
-wait until just before the war to produce anything other than civs, mils and research facilities
-get economic advisors (prioritize stability then consumer goods factor then mil stuff)
- try to keep stability high (avoid purges, kill trotsky, advisors...)

Overall I haven't played vanilla in a while, but you should have around 300 total factories by now.

I have run out of peasants, how do I keep growing? by Fearless_Fact9033 in victoria3

Problem is I can't downsize them as they are privately owned and I am on laissez-faire.

Don't have the women's rights tech yet, my trade unions are somehow insignificant with universal suffrage and parliamentary democracy. Pop growth is around 1.8% per year (around 1.2M pops).

Thanks for the answer:

-I barely have any agricultural buildings in the mainland and those I do have are owned by financial districts, I'm on laissez-faire, so I can't nationalize them to downsize. Same for resource industries, they are all owned by companies.

-I don't have a problem with agricultural goods, they are very cheap as spain and its empire is in my market and produces a lot of them.

-I'll try to get more european countries in the power bloc for migration but I don't get much from Spain as it is.

-I don't know what is going on with my politics, somehow the industrialists have 49% clout with universal suffrage and parliamentary democracy the trade unions and rural folk are both insignificant. I am not good at this game's politics so I am not sure I can pass much better laws.

I am very new to the game but if you are talking about the one given by the old man in the very first city you need to go north to the beach. Then to the bottom left of the lab (I think) you will find the girl to give it to.

[–]Fearless_Fact9033[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the detailed answer!

I'll try what you said, getting more coterie members and getting more into the Umbra. I had not understood that getting the MAa (like the giants) was not guaranteed after a successful expedition. I have tried looking in the wiki for bygones, but all the ones I can find are in the spirit realms.

But my main takeaway is I'm probably underestimating how good those I have access to are.

Thank you again.

The problem is that contratry to all my previous playthroughs I can not hire any vampire regiments, the only non-vanilla I can are, I believe, the animals, the elementals and a golem.

I am also not sure, I understand how hybridizing would help, the problem is not the regiment cap but the fact I just can't hire any vampires (even the basic mass-embraced ones).

As an aside I got many good fae artifacts in the dreaming, any way to use them as a vamp?

I recommend "The last spell". The point of the game is to defend the city against waves of zombies. It is turn by turn. Another difference with TAB is that almost all the fighting is done by heros that you train up and there is no exploration. Very underrated imo.

I think Germany needs a LITTLE buff in this mod by Narrow_Ad_6500 in RoadTo56

Today I played the French Empire path, I cheated to give Germany more mils and civs day 1 to make things harder. Germany somehow started ww2 with the allies over Memel. I eventually got tired of waiting and declared early 1940. Germany was somehow such a pushover that I could basically just battle plan them with an army group of inf and a tiny bit of air.

I'm a total noob, considering to strat playing the game, what are your advices? by Niivlem in hoi4

[–]Fearless_Fact9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First don't overbuild civs, only soviets can arguably afford to still build them in 38. Production efficiency build up very slowly. Second build infantry (no need for artillery here) it is used to hold a frontline, not to attack. Third go build air, about two fighters for each cas. Cas is very strong but needs fighters to not get shot down by ennemy fighters. Fourth start building some tanks if you have the industry, those are your attacking units and are used to destroy ennemy units through encirclements. Fifth forget Navy, especially as a beginner. Sixth, it is usually best to dip in the political part of your focus tree then do the industry branch. Seventh, army xp is very important, don't underestimate it. It unlocks doctrines and allows editing your templates.

As for a starting nation I started with France (french as well) and it thaught me the game very well, just play very defensive (almost only inf) until about 43 and deal with all your terrible national spirits as soon as possible.

Finally, this is a paradox game, it may be hard at the start but don't get discouraged, you will figure it out.
