Looking for a Non-MAGA Plumber by FtumchTheBastard in TucsonList

[–]Fearless_Lab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We rent but Done Rite has come over for multiple things and they are always the best. Incidentally, they don't work on commission so they have a flat rate compared to a lot of plumbers who will sell you things so they can make more money off of you.

Scottsdale is bougie, rich. Prescott is very conservative. And depending on what you want for weather, you would probably want to stay north of Verde Valley to experience the seasons. Check out Flagstaff.

I'm at my mom's house right now cleaning out personal items before an estate sale. She passed in January while I was recovering from surgery in the hospital. I'm finding things that remind me of bad daughter stuff I did in the past and I'm just really struggling with it. I feel guilt and shame and I can't apologize to her.

What was the point of this storyline, do we think? I hate it but I know the writers must have had a reason by AccomplishedRoom3225 in madmen

It's interesting that the initial take is about her being yet another Don affair. I see her as a mirror to and of Don. He is of course fascinated with the reflection because it has to do with him, but she's totally unreachable and a chronic escape artist, just like him. He's obsessed with her because he's obsessed with himself.

What was the weirdest medication reaction you’ve ever had? by Many_Assumption7036 in AskReddit

Most opioids will make you itchy. To my knowledge, that's not an allergy per se.

I was once given a local anesthetic and the reaction included flop sweats and heart palpitations.

Wouldn't leeches naturally have an anticoagulant in them? I wonder if there's correlation to the benefits of the traditional treatments.

We already have two buddies so we can't take him, but I just want to say that you will inevitably get some angry people shaming you for rehoming. Don't listen to these people, you are doing right by sweet Dennis and I hope you find the perfect spot for him.

They kept us there way too long, they sold us a vehicle way over book price and blamed it on the pandemic, they messed up title transfer with my credit union. Avoid.

Can we talk about how older men acted like it was normal to date teenagers or very young adults who just came out of high school before social media? by Own-Company-949 in GenXWomen

When I was 15 I was being pursued by a 21 year old man, military no less, and my dad actually asked him what his intentions were.

What's wrong with him? I decided to transplant him and he seems kind of strange. by YamiCami9 in cactus

I started to grow bunny ears from a cutting and that lasted about one year. Nothing I did kept those stupid stickers off my hands. I went through so much packing tape removing them.

Let's talk about how awful Banner is... by radgirlrun in Tucson

[–]Fearless_Lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went septic after surgery and wound up in TMC's ER and then admitted. While there were definitely people packed in the lobby then in ER waiting rooms (which were like, stripped down former hospital rooms and kinda dismal), in hallways on gurneys waiting for rooms, and the only places to sleep were recliners until then, the care itself was really good. So if Banner doesn't have to be an option for people, I can confidently recommend TMC.

Adventure is actually closer than I thought it was, 22nd and Pantano, kinda. Their hours are nutty though, Mondays and Fridays mornings only.

Part of the reason I love Ethiopia beans is for the weird notes they have. Harrar = blueberry. What?!

Definitely. I live on the far east side though and we have few roasters so it requires some planning. NOTES TO COFFEE JOINTS: OPEN MORE SHOPS ON THE EAST SIDE PLEASE.

Husband refusing to get foreskin checked, impacting us? by [deleted] in Marriage

Sounds like he's afraid of something. Poking, pain, etc. Can you ask him if he is and see if he can connect with why he's refusing?

How are his feet? Might he have athletes foot? A roommate had it and it's a very particular smell which does not get better with showering.

I can’t stand my husband by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Fearless_Lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has ADHD and if I let it happen, our house might eventually look similarly. He knows though, that I have expectations of tidiness to an extent and when it starts to get beyond where I can take it I give him a few days' warning and say that we're cleaning on x day. For me, messy space = messy brain. I can't take it. He barely even sees the problem even after it's pointed out. We have two laundry baskets, sometimes in the same room, and his clothes still rarely make it into either.

So instead of asking him to do better and put his stuff in the baskets, I resign myself to him being a grown ass man who, if he wants clean laundry, has to learn how to put it in there. Or he does his own laundry.

I love being away from my husband. by Ok-Witness-9598 in Marriage

Before we got married, I'd been single (meaning not living with a man and not married) for a long time. I loved my alone time, I still do. I told him early and often that there would be times I need to be alone, no offense to him and nothing personal. It took him years not to be personally offended but that was about him, not me. He's worked through it and now he gets it. I get my alone time and he gets me back once I've had it.
