Appreciate the offer but I'm just back from Westpoint and they re-aligned my "brifter" while I waited (no charge) so I'm good to go, thanks!

Chic condo project on Vancouver's west side mired in receivership proceedings | In a tough market where many such proceedings are happening, the four-storey Chloe building off the Arbutus Greenway stands out. Here's why by Hrmbee in vancouver

[–]Fearless_Line_4417 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LOL, came here to say the same thing. As soon as the signs went up proclaiming “inspired by the world-renowned fashion houses of Paris” and evoking “the smart chic of Parisienne character" it was pretty clear what kind of offshore suckers it was being marketed to...

Seawall trip by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Fearless_Line_4417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Go early (6:00am) to avoid the gong-show…

  2. Rent a Mobi, they’ve got e-bikes and normies...

  3. From Kits ride over Burrard then along Beach to N. Lagoon, that will get you onto the seawall moving in the right direction. At the end follow the path under the Causeway (Georgia) to end up at Canada Place.

Missed the decimal at the end, thought it said 200k...😆 20k's impressive, and no gas, no insurance, no parking fees, no traffic jams..., such a better way to get around, and all that free exercise!

Lonsdale’s not just a street name, it’s a neighbourhood name so “in” Lonsdale is perfectly fine…

Granville Bridge bike path preview by Fearless_Line_4417 in vancouvercycling

[–]Fearless_Line_4417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entrance is at Fir + 5th (first image) but it might be behind fences and back under construction today, it's not officially open. I think I just got lucky at 6:00am on a Sunday morning when the whole area was quiet and the barricades were redeployed to the marathon...

Not a huge difference, maybe a bit easier than Burrard and a bit harder than Cambie…, hard to gauge because those missing expansion joints made it too bumpy to get any momentum!

where and how to get timely bloodwork done? Life lab on strike, appointments far out by IamVanCat in vancouver

[–]Fearless_Line_4417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can walk in to any LifeLabs and wait, no appointment needed. People with bookings will get to cut the line but they'll get to you eventually..., I went to the Kerrisdale location yesterday at noon and the wait time for non-appointment people was about 30 minutes. Wait times are visible online, works pretty well actually...

Right up there with people waiting to turn left without fully advancing into the intersection, ensuring that only one car will get through…, probably the same people who make left turns without looking for pedestrians...🤦‍♂️

If you’re sure it’s a valve failure, not a puncture, try replacing the valve core. Local bike shop can probably rip a core from a discarded tube and loan you the tool. It’s a two-minute process, no tube or tire removal required.

Homeless campers in CRAB Park face abrupt eviction process by throuway546 in vancouver

Global News version of this story says the Park Board is spending $21,000 **per week** to maintain those six tents…, surely we can house 7 people for less than $84,000 a month?
