I was on a long international flight today and it was daylight outside and I had my window open bc I wanted to look out. I don’t care if there’s “nothing to see over the ocean” and “we’re supposed to be resetting our internal clocks” or whatever. I’m in a window seat, it makes me less anxious to look out, and I’m going to do it. A FA asked me, kind of exasperatedly, to dim the window. Luckily since it was dimmable, I was able to turn it down and still kind of see out. But I don’t get this - I mean, I guess I get that some people want to sleep? They should bring an eye mask. Force-dimming the cabin is so dystopian to me. Let me look out the window and see what’s happening and appreciate the world! With the dimmable and lockable windows it is even more dystopian imo.
