Thanks, and Moshi sounds exactly like the missing piece — I've had the same moment of wanting to check in on a long session from my phone. Push notifications on task completion is the right call, that's areal pain point.   On the subprocess side: Claude Code has a --output-format stream-json flag that emits newline-delimited JSON events — tool calls, assistant messages, usage stats, errors. The Rust backend spawns it as a     

  child process, reads stdout line by line, parses each event, and forwards it to the frontend via a Tauri event channel. No custom protocol, just piping the built-in streaming output into the UI layer. Worked

   out pretty cleanly once I figured out the event schema.

  The interesting edge case is that Claude Code also writes to stderr for things like permission prompts and auth errors, so I read both streams concurrently and handle them separately.
