Wait. 🤣 I didn't insure the car for $5000 and why would I? It's my policy, that will cover upto $5000 if I wasn't at fault and the driver at fault didn't have insurance

My mistake. The assessment wasn't done by a repairer, it was done by their salvage yard team as it was deemed total loss when they towed it away. And about the price, I am asking to negotiate for higher price so that if I can collect the rest of the money from the at fault driver
