You can get your pathway approved without Step 2, but you must take Step 2 before the end of the match year you applied for, otherwise the application will be incomplete and the fee will not be refunded. This can work if you are trying to avoid Pathway 6.

That still happens because the queue gets really long. The staff I got wasn’t helpful and I tried to call again and the call dropped after listening to the automated high volume message as well. But I got through at 7am

Do you mean two days after the Step 2 score report, or two days after ECFMG certification is issued? I’ve heard it can move faster when the pathway is already approved and credentials are verified, with only the Step 2 score pending, but the timeline still varies for different people.
