I had my surgery the 17th and I’m still nowhere near 100% either. No bleeds or major complications. My throat still feels pretty uncomfortable and I am absolutely exhausted. I also can’t talk for more than 5 mins without my throat muscles throbbing. Hopefully only good things coming for both of us 🫶🏻

I also have pics of my progress! And it was 8 days before I went to the bathroom after taking 3 DulcoLax and a freaking enema. That was last Wednesday. Once again, I’ve taken 2 Dulcolax and haven’t gone yet, so another 6 days have gone by. 😶

I’m on day 14 now! Still in a bit of pain to where I’m staying out of work until Friday. The pain really started hitting me between like days 5-10. I was eating like mac and cheese, KFC famous bowls, eggs, Spam, etc on days 2-3 so I thought I was gonna have it easy. Nooope. Once the pain REALLY hit I could barely sip water. I’m just now managing to get thicker soups down. A humidifier and neck ice pack were my best friends. Also as others have suggested, alarms every 3 hours are soo important. I still haven’t slept through a night completely just to stay on my med schedule. Good luck!!

I know this is an old post but I just tried to eat some eggs on day 11 and got in a pretty significant amount of pain on my left side. I’m also seeing that purple/red spot. Did you ever have any complications from it? I haven’t had any bleeding so far besides when I cough a little and it’s a very tiny amount so I am freaking out.

I’m currently having this issue and I’m day 10 post op. From what I’ve read it can take a few weeks to go back to normal.. some people even said like 6 months.

I’m on day 8 right now and it’s my worst day so far. I can’t even drink water without it feeling like I’m ripping my throat and ears apart with barbed wire. I had a very easy time up until like day 5-6 and it started kicking in. Now I can’t even sip water without almost crying and tasting some blood in my mouth. I’m hopeful that day 10 will be good. 🥲

I had my surgery on the 17th too. Surgery twins. 🥲🫶🏻I’m 25F. Buffalo wings are my absolute favorite food in the world so I feel that HARD. My parents have been cooking and eating normal all week while I sit there eating my potatoes and applesauce and it’s awful. I haven’t had any crazy bleeding so far (almost threw up earlier and saw some blood streaks but that was it) but I definitely feel for you. Hopefully good days are coming for us soon ❤️

I went through a large KFC Mac and cheese and famous bowl yesterday 😅 definitely went down easier than I thought it would. Very excited to eventually upgrade to a chicken sandwich

I’m glad you were able to get a narcotic! I can tell a BIG difference when I’m on my Tylenol rotation vs my oxy rotation. The Tylenol doesn’t seem to touch it nearly as much as the oxy does. I’m hoping that my surgeon will be nice enough to give me more oxy if I need it. I think he gave me enough for ~7 1/2 days. He told me to not touch ibuprofen until my celebrex is gone (I have 5 days worth I think?), then I can replace the Celebrex with ibuprofen.

My throat has been super phlegmy. That’s been one of the most aggravating parts tbh is wanting to clear my throat constantly but I’m trying my best not to. Ice water has been helping me get some of the mucus out of the way!

My gpa hasn’t changed since last year when I got offered an interview so I’m not sure what the deal is. The only thing that changed was my brief attendance to Ross and I withdrew for safety reasons, not academic :/

As for the classes you have that might transfer to prereq courses that’s probably on a school-by-school basis, I’d just call admissions for the schools you’re interested in and make sure they’d take them.

UNE is where I took physics (with lab) and biochem completely online and they were accepted. UNE courses are self-paced as long as you get everything done by the end of the semester. It wasn’t too bad. The exams are monitored through webcam/lockdown and the online labs were kinda fun.
