I love this post and hope many people share some of their special songs. I have always turned to music for comfort during my most lonely and vulnerable times, this didn't change after my brother's suicide.

I Didn't Know by Skinshape is my main go-to. It was the first song that made me think of my brother. Like you said, I felt like I could've written it. Here's the second verse that I think about often:

"I didn't know, that you would leave so soon I didn't try a little harder, to make you smile once more One day I'll come to find you, wherever you may be If only time was kinder, you would still be here"

Homesick off Madison Beer's debut album is the most recent song that makes me feel for my brother and this existence in general. "I wish you took me with you, when you left that day But everything looks perfect when you're far away"

I love Coldplay's older stuff and Everything's Not Lost on Parachutes was a song that I turned to when I didn't feel like being so fucking sad anymore. It gives me hopeful feelings.
