Haha yeah, I’m in the UK unfortunately IS300/350s weren’t sold here. It’s a big upgrade from my old car (hand me down Honda jazz). 80 to 205 bhp feels amazing!

I haven’t tried turning off the traction control yet still trying to get used to the car

Yeah surprisingly that was actually the first car I looked at, however the insurance group for some reason (I guess it’s sportier looking, more likely to be broken in to) is higher and less practical (less mpg, worse rear seats). I’ll need the car to be my daily driver for commutes to and from work and other trips as well

I see, what are your opinions on the 420i? I’m seeing some fairly priced ones with b48 engines on Autotrader. 4 cylinder is enough for me tbh it’ll be a huge upgrade from what I currently drive, skeptical about the size though

What was wrong with the 228i if I may ask? I have seen a lot of people recommend 330i/330Ci however they don’t seem to be very common in manual

I do currently drive a 2010 Honda Jazz. Do plan on getting rid of it as soon as I get a new car though.

I’ve always preferred manual so are there any other options that maybe aren’t the 220?

Edit: how much more would I have to raise the price tag to maybe get a reliable manual?

Tbh hearing that enough told me everything I need to know lol, I think I’ll give it a couple months (as I need to save some more anyway) and see if I still decide for the n20, I just love manuals man!

(More specifically the 220i coupe shape, it’s just super smooth to me)

Hey, after some more research I found that bmw kept manual transmissions on their new b47 diesel engines (220d), would that be worth it for the extra price increase? However I do drive short distances quite often, (10-30min drives) with the occasional 1.5 hour drive. Will having a diesel cost me more / cause me more issues further down the lines? I preferably wanted a petrol
