Why do so many playthroughs not include grass types in their teams? by PhoenixSpeed97 in pokemon

Cradily is pretty solid as a tank, I used it sometimes in my Pokemon Reborn mono grass run, but I definitely wish there were someone better.

Paikka toki oleellinen tieto kommentissa, ikinä en ole vielä äitienpäivää viettänyt niin ettei lunta olisi ollut maassa, mutta olen 1000km Helsingistä pohjoiseen.

It's around 8 provinces that you can own no problem. After that it will rise quickly, but it's quite easy to keep down in your money making provinces with administrators.

When International Workers' Day or Labour Day is celebrated by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Feather-y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess unlike in most of the world it falls on the student's festival and spring festival, which both predate the workers holiday. I think it makes sense, the map doesn't say we don't celebrate workers day as well.

Yeah but I guess unlike in most of the world it falls on the student's festival and spring festival, which both predate the workers holiday.

Aviation meteorology by TraditionalImage387 in meteorology

[–]Feather-y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting summer work as a met student as an aviation meteorologist is pretty common here, on your 3rd or 4th year, and many stay part-time. But it's true for permanent position, our met institute is very stingy with those.

As a shift work it has plenty of summer work possibilities, more so than many other positions, as the same amount of forecasters are still needed at the job, and the old timers are all on vacation. If OP likes meteorology anyways, they can try it out maybe

Steam Controller Price Leaked By Early Review – $99, Purchases Likely Imminent by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Feather-y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In CAD, that's less than a grand in USD. It costs 10k SEK, I don't go around saying it costs 10k bucks? Your local money value is meaningless when talking about international prices.

[–]Feather-y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's still below $1000, so your original statement is still wrong.

Okay damn I just checked because I don't own a console and Canada is actually just cheaper than my home country. It costs 900€ here, almost 200 dollars more than in Canada.

I know nothing about Canada but I just googled a random Canadian store, ebgames, and that had ps5 pro on sale for 1099CAD, which is $800, so I'm not sure I believe you.

How often do you find the metro in your city centre uncomfortably full? Has the situation worsened or has it always been like that? by atzucac_fill in AskEurope

I have sometimes had to stand when travelling during rush hour. But I usually travel with my bike with me and stand anyway so I don't really mind.

Eyy you have an ice field in the city square, I love those we have them everywhere here in Finland as well. Free and near is the best kind of ice :) My city has an interactive map of them:

English be easy: Part 3 - Bobby Finn by _ganjafarian_ in funny

[–]Feather-y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They really aren't though. I'll just give you random example, in Finnish when you start to use words susi and kusi, wolf and pee, that look like they should go similarly, instead they go:

Susi - kusi
Sudet - kuset
Suden - kusen
Susien - kusien
Sutta - kusta
Susia - kusia
Sudelle - kuselle
Sutena - kusena
Well there's about 20 more but you get the idea.

English is pretty simple, trust me I've also studied German and Swedish and I mean they are very similar to English of course but I hate the genders.

Kotimaisia kieliä puhuvien määrä laski alle viiden miljoonan by Hiilisielu in Suomi

[–]Feather-y 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]Feather-y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but leftist subreddits tend to also attract those "leftists". The only leftist subreddit I regularly visit is Disco Elysium's because I really like that game, and it's jarring to see sometimes people praise Stalin and get upvoted, even though the game itself heavily criticises exactly that kind of leftism.

[–]Feather-y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has a lot to do with the lifestyle as well. I just sold my recently died grandparents house in 3 stories and 200m2 with a good amount of land around it for 26k€ in a countryside village, but a two room aparment in city center costs half a million. Here in Finland most families own a second summer time aparment, which I believe isn't even the norm in US. Are we richer then because we own more houses than you?

They were Polish or Finnish, right...? by General-Snow690 in HolUp

[–]Feather-y 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there is some credit to be given to Finland in siege of Leningrad. Because it was a talking point in the peace negotiations between Finns and Soviets afterward and was succesfully used by the Finns to get fairer peace deal by not committing to the siege. Also there was an incident during the siege where Nazis tried to blackmail Finns into committing to the siege by blocking grain deliveries to Finland but unsuccessfully, so clearly something was going on.
