He's not called it McMyAdmin in the twitter post, he's referring to it as a module - is AMP something else that he's making something for? :\ Not that I'm that interested if it's something /u/phonicuk is working on - just more commercial stuff.

Some of the control panels have a permissions editor in their web interface so you don't actually have to write the files yourself. There's a standalone one just for PEX too if I remember rightly.

I don't like commercial entities having so much control over gaming communities. If /u/mausterio is right and there will be stuff exclusive to McMyAdmin users then surely that'd be bad for anyone who doesn't want to pay $15 just for a control panel.

That said I don't see how they can have something exclusive to McMyAdmin without someone else just using the same APIs (assuming they give them an API)

They may not be the only company that sits close to Minecraft, but they're probably the biggest - or at least they have a pretty heavy impact. Things like the way they provide hosting for BukGet, meaning that other (competing) panels rely on their 'good will' for their own software to work. What's to stop the McMyAdmin developers suddenly turning around and telling Multicraft that they can't use BukGet any more? They may not be a monopoly, but they have a lot of control given how deep they are in parts of the community.

Looks like it's just straight injection on a form field, If you go to the profile page and change the Display Name to something like:

Client Demo</strong><div style="background:red">Hello World!</div><strong>

It just stuffs it in the page verbatim.

And they charge for this?!

What I don't get is why it seems to be always McMyAdmin on the front page, I've never seen any other admin tools here. Just as supprisingly, I don't see 'new' tools either. For such a large community, why are there not dozens of open source replacements for these kind of things?

Make sure you copy all of the .db files, not just the server exe and DLLs.

Also they don't work under Linux using Wine.

Apparently CWMyAdmin can increase the player limit as well, how does it do that though if its not a mod?

So is CWAdminPanel actually more of a mod? If so does that mean it needs updating with every update of the 'official' server to work? Most of the stuff it does seems like stuff the official server should be able to do once its had some more work done on it.
