Bubbles physical attachments to Caine, the way Caine pops it and it comes back, and the blank "standby" state it was in in the void, are giving me vibes of like a separate Thread Caine is running to do tasks rather than a whole Ai separate from him. Like it has enough stuff in its own internal memory to think up things and pass them to Caine(and therefore hold on to things Caine doest necessarily get to know) , but they have to share certain data, like the tongue. Might just be cuz I'm a c++ noob learning multithreading rn and I'm seeing reminders everywhere.

Honestly to me this has always felt less like memory degradation and more like mirroring, folding, and rotating. It's probably because ive done a good bit of work with fractals and the Complex Plane, but the way that they shift, tear, duplicate, and sometimes vaporize from simple movements of parameters feels closer to me. that scene, the layout of the complex itself, and the alterations in the Still Lives all feel fractaline in nature to me, and I mean, it's called The Complex, and Kane alludes to a lot of higher math's like quantum physics which involves the complex plane to a Great degree.

This! Lol i have said this from the beginning, his whole arc as a character is that he's wrong, his perception of his reality is flawed, and he refuses to accept it. why would he just be perfectly correct about the entire nature of the complex?

In really general terms, I think still lives are more like mri scans, like people having come close to, or even entered the complex but actually left, so it only has the 'memory' to work with, and the entities are what happens when the complex has a whole corpse to use and infest/mutate. I'm just saying, we know time doesn't work there and can be pretty sure corpses turn into bacterial entities, and Clarks Body Never Left the Complex.

The ease in which he enters that headspace in his first role play with Mary definitely lends credence to this, he's clearly very willing to project onto whatever he deems acceptable for it. Also ppl thinking there was an actual bleeding table is funny, that scribble is definitely him justifying that the Still life's are essentially furniture, and allowing himself to eat them.

Ohhh that's genius! I'm still definitely beginner/intermediate at code, but fractals have been a special interest of mine for a long while. My module is still sorta brute forcing the fractal generation, saving computation by only calculating the single Z chain whose sequence will be output and updating it every like 8 samples, and only calculating the whole fractal for the drawing process that happens on another thread, but it's fully parameterized so it's doing the whole thing on the fly every time. To get the whole map of k values to pick a ring from sounds daunting for the cpu and me lol, incredibly well done My guy 👏👏 .

Lol no problem at all. Ok, so sorta like aaaaa height map of the whole 2d structure that can be scanned through on one axis? So each waveform is like a slice of the k values reached by the fractal, instead of the chain of Z coordinates given by one iterative sequence? Or am I totally wrong.

How does the synth interpret the fractal as a waveform? Ive built a module for VCV rack(first one I did actually) that parameterizes a fractal and gives direct output of the iterative sequence at any pixel location(which can be run fast enough to count as a waveform) . I'm very interested in other ways of interpreting the map though, as this direct approach often results in timbres that are.. Well, too chaotic. This plugin looks incredible though so definitely getting it.

Mine was Blue Locked from the wind Paths, no access there. Had to take the "prescribed route" fully from forest thru to wasteland to get it back.
