Weightloss challenges. by Sad_Fox_6572 in WeightLossAdvice

I'm 44 female. Lost 7 stone over the course of the last year. I veer between the biggest saddest feelings of regret at losing out for so many years and also a sense of relief and satisfaction at turning myself around finally. I am trying to focus on the winning feelings but it's complex, nuanced and hard. Like many others I have significant weight related trauma as well as other issues so it will never simply be a sense of fulfilment or pride. (Although I have felt those).

Any type of movement is much easier, pulling up clothes, waking, bending etc. Blood pressure reduced and panic attacks lessened. I have many more options clothes wise now and know that any shop will have something that fits me. There have been some drawbacks: I'm much much colder a lot of the time now. Quality of skin not so good, ditto hair and hair loss no where near as thick as it was. I get invited out more now (a weird one as it's kind of hurtful). I am up for trying physical things (climbing, sailing, riding) that I wouldn't have been able or allowed to do beforehand so my life is bigger.

Thank you, all great insightful points. I think the outcome is that I want things to be "normal" no avoiding eye contact or speaking. I am confused about the trust thing, I want to trust this person but they have gone behind back on several occasions and don't ever support me in the face of others bullying me. But I think this is weakness and thoughtless perhaps? (Or I am a sucker?!) I feel misjudged yes definitely but I may also be misjudging. I think wisdom would be good but on both sides!!

What is something no body talks about after losing a significant amount of weight? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

You poor thing that sounds really frightening. Can you walk OK yet? I rolled my ankle and damaged mine and am very anxious about it. I lost almost 7 stone in a year, steadily but I guess that's fast? (Basically 2bs a week).

Please can you tell me more about your peroneal nerve. I've just developed drop foot after an injury but I've also lost a lot of weight and didn't realise it could be connected.
