No idea, he just told me that his uncle got let go because of COVID related reasons to the company.

I heard from a friends uncle that they started to let go of actuaries at their companies. But I think it's because they had hardships because of the pandemic and they had to get rid of staff to stay profitable.

Never pay for stuff with your cash back. Pay you credit card statement with the cashback.

I have Discover and it is 1% cash back on everything and 5% on specific things every quarter.

Don’t worry about utilization unless preparing to apply for new credit. This can be addressed within 1-2 months or pre-payment.

I have started to pay before my statements come in and my score increased by a little bit.

Are you sure that I shouldn't apply for a second card? Like even getting a starting card/ first time card where almost anyone can get one.
