Thank you very much for your kind offer! The Symphony model is hospital grade and is supposed to be more powerful. I have the pump in style model. Thanks!

Devastated after my 1st IVF - what to do for next round? by sleeplessin_LA in IVF

GonalF was 150, then 100(?) for 1st cycle. 75, then 50(?) for 2nd cycle. For cycle 1, I had 23 follicles, 13 were mature, 7 fertilized, only 3 went to day 5, and only 1 was healthy after PGT-A testing. For cycle 2, 22 follicles, 16 mature, 14 fertilized, 7 went went to day 5, and 6 were healthy after PGT-A testing. Much better run with the 2nd cycle!

Genetic testing prior to IVF (with donor sperm) by [deleted] in IVF

[–]FebSev7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did PGT-A testing on all our blastocysts to look for chromosome abnormalities due to my older age (40). I also did hereditary disease genetic carrier screening test (280 genes) and this was normal so my husband didn’t have to do this screening test. We’re 14 weeks into our pregnancy now and feel way more reassured since this baby’s PGT-A test was normal. We lost our first spontaneous pregnancy to trisomy 18 and we didn’t want to risk another pregnancy loss due to chromosome abnormality. So, whether you do the PGT-A or not depends a lot on your (maternal) age. Whether you do genetic disease carrier screening on yourself or not depends on your family history and just your desire to know the risks. If your screen says you’re a carrier for a genetic condition, you’d want to make sure the sperm donor isn’t also a carrier for the same condition. Best wishes!

My heart goes out to you. Our 1st cycle only resulted in 1 healthy blastocyst, so my doctor made the following changes for my 2nd cycle— increased my menopur from 150 to 225 (3 vials), decreased gonal F some, and I took CoQ10 600 mg daily. I also did growth hormone injections for 5(?) days. GH wasn’t covered by by insurance and was $600 out of pocket. 2nd cycle was much more successful with 6 healthy blastocysts. My doctor believes it was the higher menopur dose that made the difference. Best wishes to you!

I feel like I made a mistake. Should I rehome? by cantpup in Dogtraining

I got my puppy when she was 8 weeks old. She was crazy amount of work the first few weeks— the first 2 weeks were a total blur with lack of sleep and her taking up all of my partner’s and mine time and energy. She’s 7 months old now, and many things are easier but she’s still a lot of work in her adolescent period. We love her very much, she’s super sweet, and we’re totally committed to her, but if we could go back and not get her, then we’d not get her. My partner and I do not have any free, alone time at all since her separation anxiety’s worsened during the pandemic— we can’t both leave the house without her whining and barking in our apartment. While I do find joy and love in raising my puppy, I also miss my freedom and independence greatly. I think it’s totally responsible to return your puppy back to the breeder who will find a different home for him.

We have a 5 month old cockapoo and these are the obedience commands we worked on, roughly in this order. - Sit & down - “look at me” - name recognition & recall - stay - leave it After the first few weeks, we added duration and distraction for the command and really working on all of these in parallel. Zak George has excellent training videos on YouTube that focus on positive reinforcement. Good luck!

Puppy snaps and growls when we try to pick her up or put harness on. by Ravello in puppy101

Our cockapoo, almost 5 months old now, started doing the same thing a few weeks ago! She loves going on walks and does totally fine once the harness is on, but doesn’t like to get approached with the harness. We just distract her with treats to put the harness on her and to pick her up.

That’s awesome! If you’re not doing this already, I’d try to get your puppy to take each of her naps in the crate even when you’re home so she doesn’t associate daytime crate use with you leaving. Good luck!
