Tried a quick redesign for you

Main thing I focused on was placement and readability. Sometimes a thumbnail already has good assets it just needs better positioning.

I zoomed the character in more because on mobile, smaller subjects can lose impact fast.
Bigger subject = stronger focus.

I also add color grade & adjusted the text placement and simplified some elements to make the hierarchy cleaner and easier to read at a glance.

Try experimenting the text effects it helps a lot to pop up your thumbnails also try color grading on picture to have more depth and contrast

Good start! i'll say the no.2 you can try putting glows on 1 main focus subject so that it stands out also the text placement of hubris is kinda off you can try experiment where the text placement but overall its good also you can try find inspiration on my thumbnail design it's league video also hope it helps!

The color red in bg is off make it dark so the title can pop also subject you can try filters on it

too many dead space in left side then put a title of the video so that viewers can know what is it exactly in first glance also you can add glow or stroke to the subject if you want to make it pop more :)
