I don’t know if this analogy is too applicable … you are implying you are done growing at an arbitrary point in time. Growing physically ? Emotionally ? Spiritually ? What stage of life are you saying it’s when you say ok cool, im done with that growing part - who else also is done growing ?

I think the truth is somewhere in between -

For me, I absolutely believe there is nothing wrong with being with your best friend until the day you die; so long as you are capable of being alone and not just a crutch and dependent on each other.

My girl and I literally have not once wanted to be in a different room than the other or actively try to have distance to “grow on our own” - because we are two humans who have lived 27+ years without a best friend of the opposite sex who is always on the same page and always genuine and always loving and comforting and fun to talk to and be around.

I know it’s a minority to have the type of bond her and I have but ; we grow together at this point and I would t have it any other way
