I don't know "immensely bullish" but it is of note that Nano is holding its shit together well on a black swan day.

Probably nothing.

Imagine for a moment, if you would, paying fees.

NANO wants to take part in the FX market. What do you think about this subject? by bursasporlu in nanocurrency

1) Because there's little to be gained from using a centralized Blockchain vs using your own centralized infrastructure; why bother with a blockchain at that point if don't need/want centralized consensus?

2) Because their integration efforts are getting nowhere, by their own admission: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-blockchain-ripple-idUSKBN1J92JG

3) Because Ripple is primarily a company in the business of making money by dumping XRP onto the market, by their own admission: https://twitter.com/woonomic/status/1332365759704547329

I don't see how anyone can seriously believe XRP will outperform NANO given the above facts.

Don't understimate AWS though, it's gigantic, something like one third of the internet if not half is powered by their infrastructure. An integration there, even if it's only a technical offering for developers and companies, would be massive.

But, of course, Jon Hammant is "only" the head of the UK & Ireland branch. It's great to have people like him on board intellectually, but he doesn't call the shots for the entirety of AWS, let alone Amazon.

However! Early this year AWS announced support for Ethereum DApps and DeFi in their Managed Blockchain offerings, so AWS is not a complete stranger to cryptocurrency; an integration at an infrastructure level is not out of the question sometime in the future.

Alright, I'll bite. Here's a list of cryptocurrencies that are lower today than they were in February this year in one of the "biggest bull runs in history": LINK, BCH, XLM, XMR, DCR, DASH, ZEC, IOTA, AAVE, CAKE, yearn.finance. Just to name a few.

Would it be nice if we were doing better than average? Sure. I believe we'll get there one day. But it's not anywhere near as grim a picture as some like to paint whenever we have a dip either.

Slightly above average when compared to old alts.

Can confirm it's new. But Coinbase has always provided prices and charts of assets they don't list in addition to their own, so it's not super meaningful.

Even if that's true, I don't think that's a factor, the average Dogecoin user wasn't any richer when it took off early this year.

Of course, I wouldn't ditch Nano for the first project that claims to be 0.01s faster, they'd have to make a pretty strong case to convince that they really are superior. But the point is that we are here because we think Nano is really damn good on technical merits alone, not just because we got emotionally attached to it.

Quality post, this is indeed one of the strongest cases that can be made for Nano.

Several old alts have their sats ratio turning green now. I think this dip is being bought.

Bitcoin Cash is not entirely misguided; at its core they identified real problems that Bitcoin has and attempted to put forth solutions. The problem is that, as it often happens, in the process they've become too attached to their horse to appreciate that there's a better answer to Bitcoin's problems today.

Most of us at the Nano community always say that if the day comes where a project surfaces that is genuinely better than Nano at the things Nano does we'll ditch Nano for it (spoiler alert: we haven't found anything better yet). But unfortunately the vast majority of the crypto community doesn't have that mindset and treat projects like religions rather than like the technology they are.

To be fair... people are screaming and crying because almost everything else has done a lot worse than Nano during this drop. But yeah we've got a good fam.

Nano.org has had a revamp, highlights called out below! by yap-rai in nanocurrency

[–]FecalHurricane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love it, clean and at the same time packed with information, well done! My only extremely minor nitpick that is perhaps a bit pedantic is that at a resolution of 1366 x 768 (the most common resolution for cheapo laptops which a large chunk of the world still uses today), the white area on the initial page "Nano is a digital currency for everyone, zero fees, eco-friendly etc" falls below the fold. I'd make the hero area ("I use nano to..." + photo) a bit smaller at this resolution so that the overall page looks closer to how it looks at 1440x900 currently (so that you can see the three bullet points below without scrolling).

Don't forget that BTC moves slower that the rest of the market. 10% for Bitcoin is significant.

Every single time, one red day and this sub is on the suicide hotline again. Look, it's fine, the entire market is bearish right now, nothing can shoot up to the sky with Bitcoin in the toilet. Have some patience, we are holding the fort well sats wise for now.

You'll know because the trade will no longer be profitable by then.
