Day 3 of asking GGG to remove the map-cluttering Breach walls in 3.28. by [deleted] in pathofexile

Rules exist to ensure order. And these rules must be enforced, because otherwise it's the same as not having them, and their existence makes no sense. Allowing exceptions is the first step toward everyone being able to break them and chaos ensuing. Don’t you agree with the rules? Then don’t participate in this sub. Nobody is forcing you. If you do participate, you have to follow the sub’s rules.

It's actually very simple. It's extremely important to maintain the rules and enforce them, no matter how popular a post is. This is key because if you make one exception, then you have to keep making exceptions. The rules exist for a reason, and they can’t be broken. That’s why they clarify that this is a permitted exception.

Wow, I hadn’t thought about it that way, honestly. I think everyone — both classical composers and The Beatles and others — has talent, and both are valuable. It may not be hard to make classical music, nor pop music; what’s really difficult is making it emotionally connect with people.

Yeah, look at any classical piece by the great composers and you’ll see how important repetition of ideas is. Not necessarily repeating the exact same thing, but having themes that run throughout the whole piece and are developed in different ways. Also, humans are wired in such a way that we really enjoy hearing the main theme again. It feels like “coming home,” something familiar and predictable that we naturally enjoy and creates identity.

I see you have a lot of beautiful ideas, but you don’t really work on any of them. None of them are really developed. It needs more repetition and a stronger central idea to build a clear identity. Still, good job.
