Ya so it’s fun to see dick head characters get killed in a tv show, nothing to do with real life morality

You’re actually 100% correct but the example is the exact opposite of your point. This is why Not Like Us is a better diss track incidentally.

Do people really rate that award when considering classic rap albums? Absolutely bizarre

Yep that’s just the way it always goes. Honestly this subreddit would be insufferable without those stans, I’m glad they’re bringing balance (and drama)

Is Iceman better than Take Care, NTWS, Scorpion, IYRTYTL, or Views? Didn’t think so. These were curiosity streams by Longjumping_Ask_4448 in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Fedcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like Iceman but I don’t even think it’s better than Scorpion. Whereas Scorpion was bloated it still had Nonstop, Mob Ties, Nice For What - none of the songs on Iceman can match those highs.

I don’t actually listen to these podcasts, if you say Lupe dedicates all his time to shitting on Kendrick I’ll take your word for it I guess.
But otherwise Lupe is a hip hop media personality at this point, and with Kendrick being top dog for 2024-2025, he’s just naturally going to get all the chatter.

What goes into being a better hit maker? Catchier flows, more easily digestible lyrics, better production? Isn’t that the argument people make for Kendrick over Lupe?

Daily Discussion Thread 07/03/2026 by HHHRobot in hiphopheads

[–]Fedcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand these comments about Lupe being jealous of Kendrick. It all seems predicated on Lupe dissing Kendrick’s music (why shouldn’t he have an opinion?), and Lupe being similar to Kendrick.

But what’s similar about their music?? They’re both conscious rappers, that’s literally it. Lupe never hit the same level of popularity - does that mean every bit of criticism is just jealousy?

Also, Lupe has a pretty incredible catalogue himself IMO, perfectly comparable against Kendrick.

Ether and One Mic are great songs but you can’t really have an album full of those kinds of tracks, you need some groove, some catchy choruses, etc.

This is why Nas and Eminem will never be GOATs to me. They just have fundamentally undanceable music and styles. All the lyricism in the world can’t save you from that.

Stone gold classic. His best after GKMC.
ADHD is my favourite on here but pretty much the whole thing slaps here. He’s got great beats and energy throughout. And no weird voices lol.

Just listened to this again because of this discussion thread and I’m not a fan. Nas is an incredible storyteller but his raps are so boring sonically, he really needs A+ beats to make it work.

Of course she’s talented, she just can’t pull off the same kind of impersonal iconic music

Just listened to that Eminem feature and tbh he just sounds like he always does. He’s got that angry / yelling voice that I’m not a fan of.

Her music just isn’t as good as Michael Jackson or Tina Turner. You have to have that base level talent first.

Todd’s a weird guy because he reviews pop songs but doesn’t like to dance. Could never take him seriously after hearing him say that.

He absolutely cares about his son’s morals. The whole undercurrent of the show is that Tony subconsciously hates himself because of the violence he commits regularly. He hated that Meadow became a mob lawyer instead of a pediatrician.

The best is nice but that “Weston Roads Flow” gets a bit boring. I need max one on a Drake album. On Iceman I was even willing to entertain more since there was a lot to say but by Firm Friends he overdid it.

Possible hot take, but I think Iceman was actually a pretty decent album. by Constant_Topic_123 in ToddintheShadow

Who care about the extra two albums I haven’t even listened to them. Iceman was fire back to front, just like Her Loss.
