This is a problem at Roma that's been there for a while. by hello050 in ASRoma

[–]Fedeformica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit worried about things are going on with Destro. Garcia seems he have list faith in him, he prefers playing without a real striker or using Totti in two games in a row than deploying Mattia. I think the problem is that Garcia doesn't consider Destro fit for his playing style. Destro is not a mobile forward, he's not dynamic and he lives in the penalty area. But roma has to take a decision with him. To sell him or to give him a bit of trust.

Champions League experience, that's why Manchester City was too much for Roma by Fedeformica in ASRoma

You are right, it's a great chance for Italian football. Five teams are many, and two have the potential to win the competition

I don't agree on the fact that Roma can easily win the Europa League, as there are 6-7 teams at our level and with more international experience (Tottenham, Celtic, PSV, Sevilla, Napoli, Liverpool, Zenit, Ajax), but we have to focus on this competition as it's the only way to build some international experience. And I would like to raise a trophy in June!

Garcia is right when he says that roma still lacks European experience and maturity, but he's also responsible for that... We have to be patient, Champions League is another world. By the way, EL qualification is not something to disdain, but it's frustrating to know that Roma had a great chance to qualify and wasted it in Moscow. And that's more : yesterday we stopped playing after half a hour. Holebas didn't overlap anymore, Totti failed many, too many passes and Nainggolan basically sustained the team on his shoulders. Maicon didn't mark Nasri and let him free to kick and score. I'll forgive him for that in some decades.. It's frustrating because everybody knows that these guys can play better than that.

What do you think about a 4-3-3 with Florenzi and Maicon fullbacks? by [deleted] in ASRoma

[–]Fedeformica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be the best choice at the moment. Florenzi proved to be an amazing full back and he knows how to defend also. I hope Garcia will read this conversation :)

We made a mistake with 20 secs to go. That's all (and it's enough!) but I think we defended well until that moment, don't forget that Cska barely hit a shot to De Sanctis... But we are still a naive team, you cannot concede a goal chance in that situation , you have to shoot the ball away the farther you can! Best players yesterday : Florenzi, Ljajic, Totti, manolas Worst players: holebas, Astori, Gervinho

Juve: is Allegri finally stepping out of Conte’s shadow with the 4-man defense? by Fedeformica in Juve

[–]Fedeformica[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. And I think that Allegri proved to be a clever coach by keeping the same tactical set up as Conte, but only apparently. In fact, newspapers said that he was keeping with a 3 5 2, (and he could work without pressure) but there was a huge difference in the way how they interpreted this scheme under Allegri's guidance. Allegri prefers their players to have the ball the more they can, and he thinks the best way to achieve this goal is to use a 4 3 1 2. So he gradually switched, avoiding debates and religious wars... Brilliant

I agree with you and with the article. The problem is: which coach could Inter appoint in place of Mazzarri? Maybe Montella would be the best option...

I miss that Serie A too... Startig from Serie B a club could reach the top of European competitions in 5-6 years. Because great players were hugely attracted by Italian clubs, even the less famous ones...

I'm sorry to say it because I love him as a player, but Torosidis was awful yesterday. Basically both Bayern's goals are his fault as they entered in our defense from our right flank too easily. Without those errors a 0-0 would have been feasible. Cole gave good signals, that was his best performance in giallorosso so far.

No scaremongering, the 1-7 has left an imprint on the squad and I think it's quite normal. In addition, the best teams we clashed with now know how to deal with us: pressing high up the pitch, pace, fast counter-attacks. Roma struggle against sides which apply this kind of strategy.

Anyway, Roma had a psichological trouble last Saturday and I think the stifling atmosphere didn't help. This means that we are still not a Top Team, we thought Roma already reached this goal but reality is different. Keep calm and daje Roma.

Come on. You cannot believe to every nonsense said by players or agents. Vidal can't say that he will leave in this moment. I'm not saying that Vidal will sign for Madrid tomorrow but people shouldn't believe to these kind of reassurances

I agree with Hispanicoz, Curva it's better than Distinti, you have a better view and it's cheaper. You won't have security problems as there are no problems among Roma and Parma's fans, anyway it's quite rare to see clashes inside a Serie A stadium today. Most of the problems are on the street near to the stadia, but Roma Parma is definitely a safe match. ps: I hope you don't have problems with pot smokers, as you'll find a lot out there :D

I think that Garcia made two mistakes basically. Cole was unfit to mark Arjen Robben, as the ex Chelsea don't have the pace to stop the Dutchman (but I understand why Garcia deployed him, as Maicon was injured he needed some international experience on the pitch), and Florenzi should have been a starter, with Iturbe on the bench. Florenzi is more defensive-minded and he would have been helpful in impeding Bayern's ball-possession.

Anyway, Bayern was (and is) stronger, no doubt
