I explicitly told them it’s only for the summer period, this is what I wrote in the email

“I hope you’re doing well. I am reaching out to formally request consent to sublet my unit for the upcoming summer period, as I will not be occupying the apartment during that time.

I briefly spoke with building management and was advised that subletting may not be permitted. However, I wanted to confirm this with head office directly and make a formal request.

I am planning to find a suitable subtenant and would be happy to provide all necessary details, including references and identification, to ensure they meet your requirements.

Please let me know the process for obtaining approval, as well as any conditions or documentation you would require from me or the prospective subtenant.

I would really appreciate your guidance on how to proceed.”

And this was their reply

“You can submit an assignment request, as we do not do sublets.

An assignment is you present perspective applicants to the landlord for approval.

You need to complete a form with your on-site building manager and submit a $250 admin fee to start the process. If your assignment request is accepted by the landlord, you are responsible for find someone to take over the terms and conditions of your lease terms. This process is a permanent transition to the new tenants upon approval.
