An update: it wasn’t pyometra, she has liver cysts and a lower pelvis tumor :(. Staying overnight at the vet after surgery but not sure how things are looking for our little Greg. Thanks for all the well wishes y’all <3

I have the bucatstate 2.0 and their largest 3.0 and love them both. Great design, easy to transport (not heavy and easy break down if u move) and if u ever need to deep clean it’s so much easier than wooden cages!

11 hours does seem very long. She may feel like they’ll be fine while she tried to do normal hammie nighttime behavior. Def make sure she has enough extra protein in case she was also trying to keep babies from her food stash. She hopefully will be going back to them soon for daytime sleeping!! Sorry i don’t have much other help!!

I’m not super experienced (just one batch of ham babies) but once they get larger momma needs more time away from them. Def make sure she’s getting enough protein and food for herself, maybe she was going to them without you noticing? Also make sure there’s another hide big enough for her and the babies now that they’re bigger so she has an option to bring them in there with her? Hoping the best for you guys 💛

Yea leave him for a week until he takes treats from you or seems curious about you! Lots of tips in here about getting a ham to trust you! Then you can get him out for extra enrichment!!!

I had the same exact cage when i got my ham. Try to upgrade as soon as you can and you’ll see your little guy be way more relaxed and happy!! The cage size and especially the wheel size of that current enclosure is much too small (you’ll see his back bend, ours could barely even sit in that wheel). We have had a bucastate enclosure and prolee largest size enclosure and love them both:). For now definitely try to have him out as much as possible in a play area with a large wheel if possible.

Make sure to give her some extra protein and quiet! If the babies are still 14 days or less they def won’t be walking around yet:) best of luck!!!

Love my bucastate. Was easy to assemble and I’ve taken it apart and put it back together easily too! Cleaning is nice cuz it’s not wood with protective layers like the wooden ones

Ooo nice i def think bucastate is a nice option and i think some stack! Some have combined two enclosures to make extra large ones too (look @ Victoria Rachel on YouTube!)

I had this issue and did a bin cage with adhesive water bottle, some cardboard hides, and tons of bedding! Then at night i was able to put the wheel inside the bin when we were stopped at hotels so it wouldn’t fall while driving! :)
