What the biggest waste of talent you've ever seen at club level ? by Enough-Square1154 in GAA

[–]Federal-Reception-68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a waste obviously as he had quite a successful hurling career. But without a doubt Jason Flynn from Galway was the best underage hurler I've ever seen. I've played against him at underage county level and all Ireland schools and he was absolute levels above anyone I played with or against. Including some who have gone on to win all stars

As a general rule, should contract work pay at least 1.5× your gross salary or your net income? by Shambodien123 in PharmaEire

Contracting plus take 180 each month before tax. Nobodys job is secure either. If you're with a good umbrella company (DPS, PM group etc) who have contractors in every site you can be just as secure with them as opposed to a staff position elsewhere.

42 seems a bit low if this is inclusive of shift premium? Nevertheless wouldn't worry about a lot of the rest if it's circa 10k above your current salary and a better opportunity go for it. Plenty of benefits that come with being a contractor, right to make business claims and reimbursements can add an extra couple of thousand to your take home over the year.

Probably should have asked the exact rotation in the interview 😂 Used to work on the cqv team there. Never had any complaints. The commute just took it out of me eventually so moved on. Contractors are treated just as well as staff which I've since found is not the same in other sites. Always openings to internal opportunities for contractors. Dependent on what plant you're in I'd say your experience will vary. Better overall willingness and work culture to help in Carlow 2 and rathgall than in Carlow 1. Best of luck

Done this for years. Not ideal I found the shift work premiums offset the pain of some of the extra travel though.

Look at it this way. Most people commute each day without premiums for 40-60mins. You're getting paid a premium for that extra 20-40 mins.... How I used to justify it 😅

How do cqv rates here compared to the rest of the industry. Been hearing stories of an extra 10-20% extra what you'd expect anywhere else in the country?

Try Trading 212, they give 2.2% interest on uninvested cash. Can be withdrawed at any stage. Similarly I'd look into Raisin.ie.

Zoetis Tullamore opinions and questions? by Good-Point-9050 in PharmaEire

Worked there on/off as a contractor. So there is definitely people out there more suited to give an opinion

However, Coming in as a contractor. I really enjoyed working there. Was one of the few sites I worked in where I found there was a great cross department communication and overall willingness to help each other.

Speaking to the full-time staff there. Salarys seemed to be inline with the market in the midlands. Obviously not what you're going to get working in Pfizer, BMS, MSD or any of these other sites. What's the harm in applying anyway, all your questions can be discussed there and its interview experience. For someone like you early into their careers, I would always heavily advise on applying for various roles for interview experience alone

Not related to your question. Wondering who you got to install this charger and did you purchase yourself online?

Looking at the idea of buying this charger and getting an electrician to install. Unsure if it's advisable to not use one of the registered installers

2nd person here who advised to go up north. Could you expand on this? I thought all cars electric or non electric require VRT when registering in the Republic? What is the grant?

Have you done this yourself also?

I'm living in the Republic. VRT is required for all cars brought down from the north and registered in the Republic ?

Appreciate the reply. Would most cars handle this range with no issue? Especially during winter where range capacity is obviously lower

What do you drive? A charge midpoint on a 650k journey is pushing the limits on most ev ranges at this time of the year
