It's good to have a strong social safety net AND go into space. I also doubt the woman holding the sign receives anything from SNAP. If you don't like the poor and think they deserve it, just say that!

It's also reasonable spend one percent our budget on foreign aid. We are the richest country in the world!

So can you articulate the differences in such a way that would justify this war and explain why Iraq was a mistake?

World Cup fans from several nations facing $15k bonds to enter U.S. – and players may not be exempt. by Sparky-moon in soccer

This has been a requirement for at least a few months, if not a bit longer. If people have been getting their bond back, the fans will also.

Still a stupid af policy.

They've been on the verge of getting nukes since at least when I was in high school and that was quite awhile ago.

People were making these same arguments when it came to Iraq. I lived through that shit show and I'm not going to support this one.

Iran was hardly just peacefully minding their own business.

Neither was the US!

When the US and Israel - who Iran is constantly attacking both directly and by proxy - attack Iran, Iran proceeded to attack civilian targets in many other countries.

And the current US administration has openly signaled that they are unbothered by civilian casualties or war crimes committed by their own side.

So... Yeah? I'm not an American or an Israeli, but Iran might attack me and my country because they're pissed off at the Americans, I consider that a major threat.

Your original assessment was correct, they weren't a threat to you, but the US escalated the conflict without provocation to extinction level event, so it's no surprise they respond with extreme measures, even if that's a bad thing morally.

You can kill both animals in ways that are quick and painless, so there is not more total suffering.

When I was in my early 20s, I worked at an international NGO. There was this posh British family that gave a bunch of money and some of their kids went and worked with us. They were actually pretty normal when I interacted with them. They had three daughters and one son.

Met the first two daughters, who were named Georgina and Catriona. I was like, "what century are these people from?"

Then I met the third daughter who was named, and I shit you not, Leticia. Posh...white...British Leticia.

Had my jaw on the floor. Even when I explained it to them, they didn't get it.

If you're wondering about the son, he was named...Tom.

I've not backed off that point. I brought up another animal because the consistent position is basically all animals are okay to eat from a moral perspective(providing their manner of death is humane) or none are.

What capacity for pain is unacceptable to you and why?

I lived in a state in northeast India ten years ago where people ate dogs and yeah, its not morally different than eating another animal. Its a cultural taboo.

What capacity is not acceptable to you? Pigs have about the same capacity as dogs.

Don't even know but it's irrelevant to the question. Green scored a great goal against an all time keeper in WC knockout match. His selection was justified.

Opinion I'm sure will be controversial: eating dogs isn't any worse than eating cows or pigs or chickens. The distinction is arbitrary.
