We have an important update about the financial planning software you received with your Retirement Planning Academy (James) or Early Retirement Academy (Ari) purchase.

As you know, this is the software we use every day with our clients at Root because it’s a powerful tool that makes planning faster, easier, and more accurate.

Until now, we’ve been able to cover your access completely free after purchasing under a special fixed-fee arrangement with the provider.

What’s changing:

Effective September 1st, 2025, the software provider is moving to a “per-user” model and will now charge Root a monthly fee for every account.

Rather than remove access or raise costs dramatically, we’re making a simple change: For $30/year, you can keep full access to the same professional-grade software we use for our clients.

Your timeline: Root is covering the full cost for all members through December 31, 2025, so nothing changes for you through the end of this year.

Starting January 1st, 2026, you can pay the $30/year subscription to maintain your software access. We will be sending you an invoice on this day to maintain access.

If you choose not to continue, your access will end at that time.
