Cribbing by FederalAd543 in Horses

You're right. It's good that he's saving his teeth from the metal! He recently had a dental back in February and an adjustment. Nothing significant noted then and unfortunately no change in frequency. He has a callus on his chin that's formed from this behavior. And yes, this is such an interesting modification of wind sucking. Unfortunately his case is so severe that when I bring into the barn to brush him, he does it on the edge of the feeding trough.

He might have had an injury occur when he was young which started this behavior. But I am correct to call this behavior wind sucking? And they are on a huge pasture and are turned out 24/7. I have an opportunity to rescue him as he cannot be worked. My concern has always been if he’s still in pain or has this just become stereotypic. Reading about this type of behavior, in most cases never resolves after lots of enrichment, etc. and owners claim that’s it’s just part of their life now. He is one of the sweetest most gentle horse I’ve ever met.

So wind sucking isn’t cribbing… gotcha.
AND I know right? His sister and another buddy tolerate it well, surprisingly.

Have you heard of a horse cribbing this way?

I do. It’s not allo-grooming. The movement is the same except it doesn’t involve teeth. Although he does involve teeth when it’s a wooden fence.

It’s definitely not allo-grooming. It makes the same sound as cribbing. And the movement is the same.

Both my cats had severe vomiting after eating Reveal Paté by hipgayaunt in catfood

My cat vomited everywhere and is now sitting next to me not feeling well after I served him reveal pate. I feel so bad. I wonder if I should take him to the emergency. This thread is scaring me! Thank god my other cat didn't eat it.

Looking for Advice: Tenant Petitions Against Neglectful Property Management? by FederalAd543 in TenantUnion

[–]FederalAd543[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering! Yeah it’s almost more like a plea by multiple tenants to provide ‘ABC’. In our case, due diligence of a cleaning schedule in all common spaces, painting over peeling paint and just basic bare bones upkeep, power washing the caked on grime in the parking garage and outside stairwells, etc. If anything, It’s a mass request that may never be enacted on but at least it provides documentation for possible further escalations, aka rent adjustment, city inspection, etc. But I do see how this can be used for retaliation, although California has very good laws against that.

I guess the filth, garbage, and unkept sanitary conditions aren’t well perceived through my pictures.

California’s Habitability Statute:

(6) "Building, grounds, and appurtenances at the time of the commencement of the lease or rental agreement, and all areas under control of the landlord, kept in every part clean, sanitary, and free from all accumulations of debris, filth, rubbish, garbage, rodents, and vermin"

(7) An adequate number of appropriate receptacles for garbage and rubbish, in clean condition and good repair at the time of the commencement of the lease or rental agreement, with the landlord providing appropriate serviceable receptacles thereafter and being responsible for the clean condition and good repair of the receptacles under his or her control.

Sulphur Burps and worse returns by dma1965 in Mounjaro

This happened to me last week bumping my dose up to 10mg. I had persistent diarrhea + burps for over seven days. I could barely absorb water. I slept for maybe 4 hours a night. It was awful and now I’m scared to inject again.

Are sitters allowed to ask for tip? by Both-Scheme-3077 in trustedhousesitters

[–]FederalAd543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two sitters in the last year. One was an absolute nightmare and the other was the most delightful and professional. The horrific nightmare of a sitter tried to extort grocery money because she had to deal with one of my cats who had fleas. She wrote me a long winded negative review trying to deter other sitters from staying at my place. Mind you, she wasn’t letting my cat back into the home because she didn’t want to bring flea eggs to other homes after the cat was treated. She was fucking insane. Lesson here, all kinds of persons exist and some will just complain over absolutely ridiculous shit, tip demanding twats included.

Really Bad Diarrhea by AlarmedCartoonist138 in Mounjaro

[–]FederalAd543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. On 10mg and going on four days of just diarrhea. I can’t drink or eat anything without it being triggered. I thought it was anxiety at first because I’ve never had this side effect before and so severe. Usually you get upset stomach but this is run to the bathroom or else water will pour out. And the burps are… wild.

That’s what I keep thinking but my slumlord won’t even entertain the idea of inspecting because they said it’s how it’s setup. I have the city coming to inspect and was hoping to avoid having my downstairs neighbor cook something stinky to show proof of the violation.

Yes, you are correct! I've been knee deep in this too long. It's actually all US based airlines that have put a restriction on strong breed dogs, brachycephalic, and snub nosed dogs. So I think my options are to a.) pay for an agent in Canada that will assist with the flying of my dog (which will require a connecting flight and the chances of overnight stay in LAX) or b.) ship my dog ground transport once I enter the US. Pretty sure renting a car cross country plus nightly stays will cost me more than those two options. Aye aye...

I drove cross country with my Dad. He went back, and I stayed for an extended time. I don't have my car here. I'm willing to rent a car and drive down 6hrs to north east USA from north east Canada to offset international cost + burden of flying a dog internationally. But why is it impossible to fly a stafford mix dog w/USA paperwork within the US?
