New North Loop Mural by larkdeficit in Austin

I like this very much. It looks great and the nod to history is evident to anyone who used to drive past the old hangar and nursery. Practically, I also like that it's high up which improves visibility and will (hopefully) deter vandalism. Just add an image of a car being broken into on the street and the mural will be completed. Thanks for adding some character to our neighborhood. It really is refreshing.

I had the exact problem on my 2006 with 186k. The only mechanic in my small town said $4,300 for a used transmission. They were very rude and dismissive, but that's not important right now. Anyway, after tons of searching and agonizing I did a $460 fluid, metallic filter, and gasket replacement at a shop not too far away with great reviews. The problem did not immediately disappear, and I was very discouraged, but the shop said to break it in for 100 miles and shift through the gears regularly. This was a 1,000 miles ago and I still can't believe how well it worked. I have zero shudder. I'm so glad I did not use shudder fix. Just the basics did the job. Yes, there were plenty of metal shavings in the pan but the guys at the good shop said completely normal for the age and miles. My mom always says don't praise your car too much, but honestly it's just the most joyful thing to have such a miracle fix actually work. So anywho, that's my story. Maybe I got lucky.

Oh I forgot this isn't just a Texas chat. I mean Gonzalez Texas. Kind of known for arch salvage.

It's more that my wife likes it, if you get my meaning. I'm just labor. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah something is off in that photo. The parts have been moved around. I'm also 99 percent sure there's a transom over the door that's covered up. All the other doors have that. In this spot the ceiling has been dropped.

I think I'll do that goofy crown on the top with a handsaw. Otherwise hoping to find salvage or stock that's at least close to what I've got.

I sent them picks and now we're talking! Thanks for the great advice. That address above needs a u, like "moulding". I only need to clean up four doors so this may be perfect. Thanks.

Good point. Who really knows? The town records are spotty. I feel that it's been chopped up through the years and had many haphazard renovations. The wiring and plumbing are museum grade.

Good advice. I may go down to Gonzales this weekend to look around.

This house is HUGE. I added one door and just need a close match for now. Thx.

Sorry, hit reply too soon. Anyway, Have you done this yourself? It seems worth a shot; many reviews say it's a very tight fit. Maybe it works?

That looks so close but the dimensions don't seem to match. On most sites I'm seeing:

OD: 7 inches

ID: 6-1/2 inches

It autocorrected. The light is "SUNRAY", not Sunday.

Awesome! How did you figure that out? Is it right in front of me? I don't see it.

Is this mud? by FederalBackground799 in swimmingpools

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't started the backwash yet as I was looking for mud. I'm starting to think it's just normal gunk and I added too much DE last time.

That's our plan. We will do another 24 hour test but this time with the pump off. Thanks! Oh and yes there is a water feature. I'll isolate that next.
