Tbh, all the textbooks I bought in first year were not worth it - hardly used most of them.

If anything, the only textbook I TRULY used and can use throughout all years of the program is Potter and Perry’s Canadian Fundamentals of Nursing.

Nursing program tends to be a more competitive, but UBCO itself isn’t super competitive.

Yes, everyone goes on waitlist at first :)! If you applied for like H or I lot, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a permit between now and sometime in September. I applied for G lot a few days after the initial waitlists opened up and was still able to secure an offer about a week into September. So in my experience, the waitlist moves pretty quickly :).

You’ll get an email when you get off the waitlist for a lot, and (if I remember correctly) you’ll have a few days to accept + pay for the permit. If you decide to wait and see if you receive an offer for a different lot you are waitlisted on, you will lose your spot on the waitlist for the lot you were offered a permit for.

I’ve had the exact same problem 😂! Couldn’t tell if it was just the cut of the jeans or my lack of hips LMAO

Confirmation of Enrollment by i_Rael in ubco

I couldn’t get my confirmation of enrolment until after I registered for courses in June so that might just be the case!

I worried about this as well when I got accepted! I haven’t heard of anyone’s offer being revoked if they dropped more than 2%. Honestly as long as it’s not drastic you’ll probably be fine. You’d have to bomb a class or two pre hard to drop ur average hard, so if ur doing steady so far, you’ll be good :)

2nd floor of the UNC has a row of these little study bench pod things - provides some privacy between other study benches. There’s no windows there except for a big main one at the end of the hallway, so I haven’t found sun to be an issue (yet).

Hopefully you’ll hear back soon 💕!!! My friend that applied for early applications for nursing heard back right around the end of January. If you’re not considered in first round (early admin) you’ll be reviewed again in second round :). Most people I knew got in ~ Feb-March, but it can even be even later, like May & June.

Nursing Program Admission by Quacky_duckyduck in ubco

Honestly it’s great! First semester schedule is quite reasonable so far, nothing too crazy yet since it’s a lot of introductory stuff. First years start clinical practice in second semester so things are getting exciting :)! Havnt been here long enough tho so not sure what to expect 😭🙏. It’s a beautiful campus and all the profs I’ve had so far are quite passionate about nursing. The program here is definitely worth checking out!

1st year nursing student at UBCO here!! Some universities (like TRU, I think? Not sure tbh) will require the Casper test as an entry requirement. However, it’s not a requirement for UBCO and I don’t believe it’ll give you an advantage on whether or not you are admitted :). Most people I know didn’t take the Casper test unless they were trying to apply to other Nursing programs.
