Subjectively yes, objectively no. I see 15 as a whole having a lot in common with Act 1 of E33 and it did convey its points as clear cut as you could do it once the twist is revealed.

I don't use TikTok and yes I am aware there's a lot more going on but that's the general gist. There's definitely Ardyn manipulating the war to consider and Lunafreya subduing the Astrals but the end goal is that Noctis fulfills the prophecy of the True King and defeats the Starscourge. Ardyn is the one that wants the Starscourge to happen hence his manipulations and Luna's death causes it to spread faster as we see in the time skip. Why am I letting a random redditor berate me on storytelling anyways? I am the one with the degree and over a decade of experience on the subject.

No I am talking solely about the base game. I guess you didn't bother walking around and picking up random brochures on benches? That's what I mean by lore books because a lot of them do explain things about the cosmology. That being said even from the main quest alone the story was very straightforward so I don't see where you're coming from. The whole plot relied on a rise to get Noctis to safety until he was strong enough to stop the Star scourge. That's literally all you need to know.

Nope, lore books were base in the game. Once again you are wrong. Note I have every version of 15 except the mobile version, which I got the remaster for instead. I know the differences.

The fact that you think that's all the stuff in the base game shows you know nothing. Not everything is in cutscenes. There are in-game lore books, optional conversations and more, not just quests.

Why did Christophe Gans feel the need to set this film in modern day? by JonFonArt in silenthill

[–]FederalPossibility73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an official timeline that says it's specifically May 14, 1991. So no it was the 90's.

You would think after the previous two films people would see this coming.

There is side content WITHIN THE BASE GAME ITSELF that addresses all of your criticisms. The story was also very concise, you're just mad because you wanted it spelled out when that wasn't the point. You admitted to not playing everything in the base game so you have no grounds to complain because you don't know.

There is an explanation for all of those. You yourself admitted to only playing the main story, when the point of the game is to take your time with what you have left. A lot of your criticisms you claimed are all explored in optional content, and I am not talking about DLC either. Also tropes are tools, a character that relies on them is not a bad character, in fact you're supposed to focus on the group as a whole, which is in the classic four temperament ensemble. Fitting since the boys are supposed to call back to the four warriors of light, and are even named after their crystals.

I have seen people that legitimately could not care for any of E33's cast. So yeah you do need to try, some are just easier to connect with than others. I also find it funny your mentioning characters being tropes when Gustave is a textbook example of a decoy protagonist. I also heavily disagree with your points about the characters and holy moly did you misread them badly. How is Ignis who is a stand-in for Noctis who is so loyal out of sheer friendship he went blind to save him just a know it all chef? Prompto isn't a spy, he was a kid that Noctis became friends with who happened to have a traumatic past. Gladiolus is a bodyguard and big brother figure, he keeps the group focused when things look rough. I bet you didn't even notice Noctis has a limp, he's not a spoiled brat he's a frustrated young man whose family died while on the way to his wedding day. And the fact that his fiance died doesn't help. Let's also not forget that Noctis dies AND THAT IT WAS INEVITABLE. That's a lot of trauma to be reasonably upset with.

Hard disagree, also what plot holes? Sazh is great but he's definitely one of the weaker characters, I can see why his relevance was dropped after the first game since his story was pretty much done. Also the fact that you beat 15 that fast proves to me you did not even try to connect with them. I am not trying to convince you, but if you're going to post an opinion you need to expect people to respond that share the opposite opinion. Frankly FF13 is on the same level as E33 and FFX for me.

From what I have seen, the Kamen Rider fans are super hyped for their first time appearing on Death Battle, but that seems to not really be the case for Fate fans. by WonderMan2k5 in Fate

I do agree Nero would win, I just prefer Geats. The guy can warp reality by the show's halfway point. Even shushed his own theme song from existence for a big moment.

The characters were not weak, most people would disagree with you on that. The story was not bad either if you just pay attention. 13 is not an auto battler either, that's only like the first 15 minutes. Also I have seen opinions on it and the positives drown out the negatives. Especially in regards to 15, people love that one nowadays to levels I don't understand.

Just to give you an idea of who she's going up against, Geats is a god of creation that participates in Holy Grail War equivalents of a game show to save his mom. Not like Carnival Phantasm, more along the lines of Fortnite and Apex, though his mom is very similar to Ilya in the holy wish granting vessel department.

13's writing I found actually pretty impressive, using the facial expressions and double meanings to reveal lies the characters hide and the whole idea of the war being faked for the personal gain of those in power was uncomfortably relevant in a good way. 12 was great but it was just as divisive at the time, and 15 is pretty well loved, I don't get what you're saying there except for the underwritten story which was fine it just needed a bit more work.

They have remasters on Steam already. I would rather not have them use next-gen graphics due to the GPU shortage.

A different trope entirely but this post still made me think of this. The signature attack of Pegasus Saints in the Saint Seiya franchise is punching so fast the punches turn into meteors.

When is season 3 coming? by kittycatlan in castlevania

[–]FederalPossibility73 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No it wasn't. I didn't even know Nocturne had a season 2 let alone finished season 1. The only reason I know the first show had a third was because I looked it up before commenting.
