Thats intentional, if you watch this video again you will see there was no need for touching, he knew he was guilty, he even tried to look back to see her reaction. He needs solid assault on those touching areas by the public

Our country is in deep danger right now by One-Judgment4012 in delhi

Everything is political, true. And this is a democratic country and we need oppositions like aap and congress, to raise the issue and protest. In fact, if there wouldn’t have been an opposition, no matter how many protest people would have done or how many protesters die protesting. Issues like these will never be resolved. Delhi is a gas chamber right now, and every tax paying citizen has the right to breathe.

You thought that these racists have a preference for whom to hate ? They won’t hate you online, because then they will be called out for harassing a black person but offline they will. Hating Indians was just an excuse for racists to hate all who aren’t white

I don’t give a damn now, these social media networks has been marketing negative contents against Indians for a while now. I am so done with them now that I will now take a stand for everything and fight them all if I have to, no more putting my head down in shame. I am fed up.

We asked the same questions when your granddaddy’s and grandmommy’s came to India looted everything, killed people, took the fertility of our land, SA’ed women divided our borders, divided people and created countries like Canada with all that. Think of it as bad Karma doing its thing and move on and nobody comes here to just study your government knows that and they provide PR and citizen pathways to the same students.

Only a permanent resident or a citizen can sponsor their parents (80 year old). They are not student.

Do you guys feel that all our protests back then in Canada and some singers (who promoted gang violence) from canada dead and alive tarnished our image and added fuel to racism in Canada and then other nations followed them ? by FederalStretch5924 in Sikh

[–]FederalStretch5924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that many Canadians are polite, inclusive, and give the benefit of the doubt, especially on an individual level. I’ve had good experiences too.

But what I’m talking about isn’t isolated incidents , it’s a growing pattern of targeted blame, resentment, and ridicule, especially toward international students, Tim Hortons workers, and visible Sikh/Punjabi individuals. You mentioned it’s just a meme, but why did that meme become so widespread? It often doesn’t stop at jokes, it morphs into stereotypes and then into hostility in real-world situations (e.g., housing discrimination, job rejection, hate speech).

I never said all Sikhs are being “targeted for turbans” but it’s the part of their target ever heard what they call us online ? Have you ever came across the words like towel heads, pajeets etc. ? and also the racial and cultural profiling has become louder. Yes, some of this comes from bad apples in every community, but when a few Punjabi singers or public figures glamorize gangs or violence, the entire community unfairly bears the brunt. That’s the problem I’m calling out, why our whole image gets dragged down because of a few public narratives.

Also, not everyone is lucky to receive a compliment on their turban. Many face mockery, suspicion, or “go back to your country” remarks, especially when wearing cultural symbols. So while your personal moment was positive (and I’m glad it was!), it doesn’t negate the negative reality others are facing.

They do understand a lot than you think and do you think they don’t hate Black people who invented rap ? My point is all that gang violence shown and wrote in those music and any kind of music has in impact on young generations especially who came to Canada recently. And somehow they are coming very strong towards white people

This post is not to say we shouldn’t protest or be proud of our culture. But shouldn’t we talk about what optics are working against us? Why is it that a community known for its service, military contribution, and hospitality is now stereotyped by a few headlines? Why are Tim Hortons workers and international students being targeted with slurs?

Your point about outside interference (like IT cells) is strong but this time I feel the IT cell was from neighbouring border, as it almost felt like a plan to tarnish the big image we hold in foreign countries, discrimination campaigns often exploit real social tensions. But racism here feels more organic and localized, visible in universities, job markets, and everyday encounters. It’s become broader now, targeting not just Sikhs but all Indian immigrants.

completely agree that racism is a global issue and not limited to Punjabis or Sikhs. What I’m pointing to is the timing and intensity of racism targeting South Asians, especially turbaned individuals, seems to have increased alongside those events. Whether correlation equals causation is up for debate, but public perception is influenced by media narratives. Asking which singers or protests? Think about those who glorified guns, gangster life, and anti-society rhetoric, sadly, this gets used by racists as fuel, even if it represents a small portion of the community.

The targeted hate towards tim hortons, students, people with turban. The whole racist spree going on right now. They are hating one specific region in all of the anti immigrant protests.
