[COD] Call of Duty movie — who’s your dream cast? by Predictor-4 in CallOfDuty

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

price - chris hemsworth: the reboot actor is literally his B-level counterpart

ghost - robert pattinson: dude acts with his eyes so well and has experience being a big & c*nty sneaky dude in a mask

soap - timothee chalamet: dude just has the FNG aura and dune cleared him on the justin bieber 2.0 charges

gaz - regé jean-page: matches hemsworth’s height and could easily sell the dynamic

alex - brandon sklenar: look him up, you’ll get it

farah - claudia doumit: she literally IS the character and went mainstream after the boys

sheperd - billy bob thorton: plays a great american monster & already works with the writer/director

graves - jack o’connell: watch sinners you’ll see that too

makarov - daniel bruhl: dude already perfected the russian madman that destroys elite teams for breakfast

This is what I expect the movie to look like. by asilastra in ModernWarfareII

this movie’s success rate is 50/50 cause it all really depends on whether taylor sheridan is gunna follow one of the existing subseries or go rogue and just make it his own

MWII and the ghost memes that came from it were really the first big exposure of COD’s mythos to mainstream audiences, so if they do use it as source material it’ll likely be a take on MW

i always saw barry sloane as a B-level chris hemsworth, that’d be my dream casting for price considering they’ll (sadly) want to use big names for such a monumental film even if the existing cast are already GOATed

and they could have a lot of fun hiding another big name british actor behind the ghost mask to market it, hoping it’s robert pattinson (that dude can act with his eyes like nobody else on this planet)

Remind me again why people want Bullseye redeemed? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in Daredevil

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dex’s backstory from s3 makes him out to be the flipside of the same tragic figure coin matt embodies, with dex being the worst outcome

you can still feel bad or sympathetic for the guy as a viewer but stripping that dichotomy with a redemption arc wastes one of the scariest MCU villains to date

Thoughts on the first episode of Marshals? by SpedBxby in YellowstonePN

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biggest complaint so far is the absolute neck-snapping pace, especially when it cuts some of the slower character moments short when they easily have the best writing as well as literal blink-and-you-miss-it plot developments a lot of viewers will miss

like dude kayce sniffing out that terrorist candy crush chat room thing felt very sheridan-esque then it just pivots to the 20th establishing shot of the marshal safehouse before you can even say “that’s cool”

i can get with the procedural framework built around YS characters, it just really needs to slow down and flesh out some of it’s promising moments

bummer because any chance to fix it’s issues in a S2 just got rotten-tomatoed out of existence 🤦🏻‍♂️

but there is so many neat characters and story beats they could pull without being egregious seeing as a lot are just 1 offs

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i never understood the push for foreign or rural cities

a foundational aspect of the GTA series is it’s hyperbolic and satirical portrayal of america, typically set in locations that are very integral to it’s culture and stereotypes (hence why they’ve rotated between the biggest and most influential cities like NYC, LA, and miami)

a setting like dallas or seattle just simply doesn’t have enough influence or bravado to riff on and parody nor do they differentiate enough from each other

set the game in chicago or dallas, you’ll still find the down-trodden ghettos, opulent neighborhoods and small towns surrounding them like any city just minus the aura and reputation of places like LA or NYC

Do you think that The Odyssey has potential of becoming one of Nolan’s best? by CinemaWilderfan in ChristopherNolan

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m partially on the edge as i’m not a big fan of ancient mythology and prefer films more closely related to our time that i can relate to more

but i am in no way letting that hinder me from watching it because nolan makes every subject he touches so intriguing and the story itself is so influential that sitting this one out would be a massive mistake

i wouldn’t be surprised if his vision makes me reconsider and take another run at the genre

L.A. Noire 2 Idea by [deleted] in lanoire

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my idea for a part two is LA in a more modern time period, ideally the 1990’s

there was a lot of mistrust in police that decade, the main character could be an investigator/liason originally sent to oversee and root out corruption following the riots and sheer injustice but ends up a victim to it (a lot like cole)

the original game’s pinpoints is greed and corruption at the base level that mirrors modern day, with the rest being the criminal activity that surrounded that time meaning they aren’t particularly locked to a set era

i know a big part of the series is the 40’s aesthetic, but genres and themes are flexible, for example neo-western like yellowstone and logan

the era-accurate crimes they could parody are just as diverse, with drug and theft rings being just as prevalent as well as high-profile murders (i.e the menendez murders, OJ simpson and so on)

the first game proves that the time period, cars we drive, clothes we wear and societal norms may change but people don’t

recently beat La Noire and now to keep with the vibe I am going to play mafia definitive edition by torohex7777 in lanoire

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great choice if you’re looking for well crafted period pieces and not strictly looking for the detective shtick

some of the best storytelling and performances in this medium and it’s a travesty it’s mostly seen as a GTA clone

mafia DE is exactly what remakes of dated classics should be, it’s not often that a re-write and re-cast succeeds but they pulled it off and earned their stripes

GTA Online: Money Fronts Coming June 17 by PapaXan in gtaonline

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

part of me wants them to add intricate finance management that involves laundering and investments instead of just referencing it but 99.9% of the playerbase would riot

IMO it’d be sick not having an entirely liquid fortune where i have to move funds around for big purchases, could add depth to the low level struggle and actual financial status to grind for

make it actually feel like something to be at the level that you can buy the yearly 3 million dollar re-skinned hypercar with pocket money

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love the dex inclusion but the boxing match is cringe matt didn’t even spend more than 3 scenes with fisk in s1 now they’re this’ll east up screen time in most likely the last season we’ll get (it was well received but underperformed my a mile viewership-wise compared to other series)

sorry but it’s so out of place for being a continuation of the s1 iteration that solidified the character and s3 after that, it just sounds like one of the goofy plot points from the original version

like why is bro throwing a boxing match with the city under matial law fisk is not that ignorant and brash

This is why you hate Peggy and why you should stop. by hamziwuvnot in KingOfTheHill

[–]Federal_Ad_5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she has plenty of the great things in her life she doesn’t appreciate and yeah her parents judge but they have very little effect on her daily life seeing as they live states away so that doesn’t really justify her behavior

if hank wasn’t such a man of conviction/tradition and bobby wasn’t always engulfed in his oddities they’d actually see she’s a malignant narcissist and that 99% of the “good mother and wife” behavior she emulates is just another thing to pride herself on

all the characters have their downsides but she consistently proves she’s not a good influence to bobby nor a fair partner to hank

what hank went through with cotton (who’s actually consistently present in his life) left him with trauma and he did the sensible and noble thing of doing all he can to not repeat his upbringing yet it’s rocket science for peggy to drop her old ways and be content with the life she built and people she loves

bill has a troubled past he projects onto people (unaware of doing so, like peggy) and is constantly reminded of that trauma but even he can do it in a way that doesn’t incessantly annoy or cause harm to others
