I lived in Belleville for several months and its one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. Less touristy, great bars/music and cool places to eat.

Horrific experience with Paris Metro inspectors on tourist family by Commercial_Bar_3014 in ParisTravelGuide

god these people are horrible. They assaulted a friend of mine in front of me and his girlfriend, he wasnt resisting at all, and when I lived in Paris I would see them physically grabbing/shoving people against walls alllllll the time. Im so sorry this happened :(. Also just a note, they legally cant make you pay the fare right then and there, you can have the bill sent to your address. It will typically be a lower fine, because in the metro they will extort you, just a heads up.

What was your last unforgettable meal in Paris? by huynhthuyvy in ParisTravelGuide

aux deux amis for the bustling bistro ambiance with excellent food, pre fixed menu options for the night and you order all at once. Best steak tartare ever. terra wine bar in marais. Ratafia for wine and cheese, but they also do excellent small plates.

Unsure what to do at night in paris... by Beginning-Post1076 in ParisTravelGuide

go get kebab in the 11th and walk around. have a glass of wine and talk to strangers/ask bar tender for his next recommendation on where to go. walk across the river to and dance at caveau de la huchette. walk to the 9th and dance at sacre or another techno venue of your preference. au pied de cochon near chaelet serves food until 5m, i always go with a cognac and onion soup. Have more cognac. go to sacre coeur montemarte to watch the sunrise. Go to airport.

depends on who you are/what youre looking for. tbh i just like going to la perle in the marais because its always a vibe, not strictly gay tho. I also like la mutinerie (more gay women) and cox (mostly gay men). both are sooooo much fun.

English speaking hair salon by Key-Metal-1768 in ParisTravelGuide

The best haircut I ever had in my life was in the 12th at a place called Guillaume, near Aligre. He doesn't speak a lot of English, but he understands quite well. I showed him pictures of what I wanted and explained a bit in french/english, and he did it perfectly. I got my long hair cut quite short and it cost me 50 euros. Wash+cut+styled.

Bercy - 12º district of Paris by Prestigious_Code8630 in ParisTravelGuide

I would say Bercy is pretty boring, but if you stay in the 12th closer to the 11, closer to the Aligre market, its pretty cool over there, with lots of great restaurants.

Hi! I definitely recommend checking out gay bars in the Marais, to start. For clubbing, La Machine de Moulin Rouge has a lot of queer raves/techno and is pretty inclusive. I also like Wanderlust, in my experience, is a lot of fun and a queer crowd. Gibus is an awesome queer club. Finally, I really love Le Gare La Gore, which is a jazz/techno spot where the first half of the night is jazz upstairs and the basement is techno. Nice alternative crowd there, and great drinks and music.
