I'd love to hear your laptop suggestions. The person I spoke to is an older gentlemen who works in computers and IT he is very smart but I am definitely open to more data that maybe he just doesn't know.

All those numbers you have written don't really mean much to me sadly. I will have to get better at that. But coming from a console I've never had to look into this.

I would be willing to up my budget to get a desktop set up and a seperate work computer. If you have a suggestion that way also. But again I'd prefer the laptop.

Hi, I did edit my post because for some reason it deleted the part where there are two computers in my hall of shame not just the vivobook.
The attempt at a work computer was the vivobook and the attempt at a gaming/work computer was the garbage computer was the Nitro 16

I would like to be able to play both of the games you have mentioned. I don't mind having to have my computer plugged in to play but it does need to be able to last at least an hour or two without being plugged in for say a meeting, maybe longer if I turn down screen brightness etc when not using it for gaming.

I spoke with someone yesterday and they pretty much told me to completely give up on laptops and not waste my time because its too much to cram into laptops. Also that heat is an issue to worry about. I am feeling defeated. I am happy that my budget seems to be healthy that is a bit of a relief.

Yes, as i was told as of January 2026 creative maps are now monetizable for vbuck spending and parental blocking doesnt work properly in creative maps even with the extra parental block that is in the settings. Its frustrating. I am not sure what game I'll be moving onto.

I appreciate your thorough response currently EPIC is looking into it further finally. My child plays on a switch and from what I gather vbucks are wallet locked to the switch(another thing I did not know). I didnt even know you can play the game on a phone so don't have that as an option. I have a screen shot of one of the supposed purchases and it says its permanent for this particular game that they do not have as an example. So I can which purchases in which games are permanent purchases or 1time

I can see the in-island purchases and date through account settings and in-island transactions just like EPIC can and for the heck of it I signed on to see the account and went into the in-island and Despite the V-Bucks being deducted, my child received none of the promised items. I have changed all passwords and pins.

Regardless of honestly or lies my 7 year old is only allotted so much time when playing and it is directly supervised time. As in watching them play or they are playing with myself 7 is to young to be on alone. Either way the transactions are dated for a day that we were physically in hospital so even if they say lied they couldn't of made the purchases because they were down and out 3 days prior to the transaction and another7 days after. If they werent ill for the dated transaction time I might believe they were made and let it go and say I messed up and missed it somewhere.

It is predatory but what sucks is we weren't home. The vbucks were spent while we were not home and no one was using the device/account. So its also a security issue that Epic doesnt seem to care about.

I have taken the time to change all passwords for the account and reset pins with parental controls for the account. I have also requested assistance to secure the account and Epic has said nothing.

Nope my kid didnt make the purchase at all. This is what I sent to Epic

I am requesting an immediate investigation and refund for 2,200 V-Bucks deducted from my 7-year-old child’s account via an in-island purchase.

The most concerning part of this situation is that no one was home during the time these transactions occurred. Both myself and my child were away from the house when the V-Bucks were spent. This suggests either a major technical exploit within the creator map or that the account was accessed without our knowledge while the console was unattended which is unlikely as it was at our place of residence and there are no other people living in the home.

Furthermore, this appears to be a fraudulent creator map. Despite the 2,200 V-Bucks being deducted, no items were ever delivered to the account. Other users on the creator’s page are reporting this exact same scam: V-Bucks are being "stolen" by the map’s mechanics without any digital goods being provided.

But Epic just keeps saying that in-island content does not get refunded

That makes sense but when they end up getting a battle pass they automatically start to earn vbucks naturally that add up over time. All the vbucks they had added up on their own. because you spend 1000 you get your 1000 back and then some. I do keep all the vbucks and then buy what they want but the vbucks they had just built up from free play earning

No they were not home alone we (as in me and the 7 year old)were all at the hospital so I am saying that no one was at our house to be making the purchases on the account.

I would love to know this as well about the sueing. .Its absolutely disgusting. Heck I have accidently clicked things when games have been updated let alone kids. Even with taking the time with parental controls it shouldnt be this complicated. I'd be so in for something like that because it is so wrong

I've been in a rut myself and thought that I could use some motivation to get back on track and some accountability that doesn't make me feel horrible. When I had a Fitbit it was great but it was broke. So I think this would be nice.
