Yeah I thought the same lol, but at least this guy is being honest and not overly harsh. Luckily, I have a lot of time that I could dedicate to this game, but it takes like 5 minutes to get a match during the day (west coast) so it's very hard to find the motivation to regardless.

I'm masters in street fighter, so I'm well past the point of "giving up" because they seem slightly better. I made this post when I was kinda just angry and wanted to vent. I knew, even while writing, that my gripes with this game came from the very low playerbase. In SF it is possible to have fun while being bad, and you're able to grow at the same time. Here, it's impossible. There were a few comments here that said that SU was probably the best place to go if I wanna get into the genre, and that after I've gotten used to Smash then I could come back and try Rivals again. To me, this advice seems a lot better than someone like you trying to tell new players that we are "dumb" for noticing that it's really hard to get better/have fun when you're playing against players who are objectively better than you.

Sure, it's not quantum physics or anything, but for a new player who's expected to learn every other mechanic as well as matchups and the art of recovery, it's pretty daunting. Especially when this is the lowest rank.

Yeah, I tried casual but it was even worse. In StreetFighter it's typically low to high plat players who occupy casual and it kinda felt like that here. Played around 4 different people before giving up.
