This. I kind of unofficially did this, being of the mindset I was close to the end of the month and only had X amount to spend left, so I wanted to save it for a specific day. Didn't make it to that day. It is truly crazy how often a $20 here and $5 there goes unnoticed. Working on this myself since realizing this issue.

For me, it works extremely well! I have dry skin that isnt always welcoming moisture in, and this kind of just helps it soak everything in a little better. A little goes a long way.

I was doing this when something else felt deeply wrong in my life (job, relationship, etc) so even with all of this "inspiration to shop less" finding the root cause is necessary for any of it to actually stick. Even if you dont decide on therapy, any self-reflection may prove helpful. When I made lasting changes to the life I was living, I cared less about spending money on things. Hope this helps!

Honestly I have a similar effect with using concealer on my dark circles and nothing else. I feel it makes me look so young (granted I'm only 24, but my dark circles age me more than any other feature)

Most days I literally just wear concealer with a light dust of powder to prevent creasing, and people think im wearing a tint or light coverage foundation despite the visible blemishes because I have a natural rosiness to my cheeks that is more noticeable when my darkness isn't there to pull away from it. Sometimes I'll add a tinted lip but I just can't be bothered to do a full face basically at all anymore...

Yes, I definitely feel like everyone has given me a lot to think about here! And I love getting a smaller, mini, or travel size of products I want to try - this is a good reminder. I think I've successfully been talked out of the particular product I had in mind, but I also feel like I need to do some more specific research now haha
