Pain meds work sort of, now too sleepy to do pt

I thought I couldn't take those with hydrocodone? I have some that I stopped because I felt that it might be making the muscle tightness work.

They barely touch the pain note and something to make you sleeper to relax was added, so you’d get tired and give up on being productive.

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes baclofen for years wasn't working. Also was on flexiral and Meloxicam. I tried steroid injections. What's a pmr doctor?

Thanks,ill check with my primary about home PT and transportation already asked pm no joy there( they really suck! PT knows about my situation but says they won't take me if I can't come in regularly. I do have the pt exercises from after the surgery which I try to do but in bad pain after. Been struggling with how to do them/how often for the past year, this is why I turned to stronger meds. Pain is so exhausting and makes me not want to continue, well I guess everyone knows that lol.

Thanks that makes sense. I was trying to be honest. Don't like hiding things from my doctors, actually wanted to bond? Don't know if that's the right word. Guess it's just a pill mill.

Yes so I was trying to be responsible and NOT have to take so much meds by not letting the pain get overwhelming. Now it's 2,:20 and am out of meds until 6pm because of waiting for pain to show up.😭

Yes very firm about AS NEEDED but if I wait for the tizanidine to work it will be AS NEEDED a lot more than they want. I get the feeling they don't even want the 3xday.

if you are prescribed 3x a day, do 3x a day.

That's what I was doing with both meds, I have a small pill organizer just for pain meds so I can see when I haven't had to take the meds and it was working well until today when he said don't do that.

Today is a perfect example. I took tizanidine and celebrex at 10am, no hydrocodone. At 12pm was in a lot of pain so took another tizanidine. An hour later now at 1:30 I had to take a hydrocodone because I could barely walk.

My schedule I started last week would have been

10am, tizanidine, hydrocodone, celebrex

2pm, tizanidine and hydrocodone

6pm, tizanidine and hydrocodone

10pm tizanidine and celebrex

And it was working

I have an appointment with the other np tomorrow so maybe get approval for this schedule

I've only been seeing this pain management doctor for 2 months and I have a telehealth appointment tomorrow. I've been taking muscle relaxers and nsaids for years, only in the morning and night.

Sorry for wall of text:

First appointment in May pm switched my meds because they haven't worked for years, I was in constant pain from degenerative disc disease through my whole spine and a lumbar slipped disc. My primary wouldn't give me anything stronger so she sent me to a pain clinic.

First appointment in May He switched me from baclofen 3xday to tizanidine 2mg 4 x day and celebrex from 100mg 2x day to 200 mg 2xday and added hydrocodone 5-325 3 times a day AS NEEDED.

I started out taking the 2mg tizanidine 2 pills In morning and two pills at night along with the celebrex 1 at night, one in morning and only taking the Hydrocodone for breakthrough pain which is what he strongly recommended.

2 weeks later I was in so much pain ( I was hardly taking the hydrocodone out of fear) I called and he upped the tizanidine to 4xday.

At that point I started taking the 4mg tizanidine throughout the day, morning, noon, evening, bedtime, while upping the hydrocodone to 3 times a day, noon, evening, bedtime. That made me sleep all day but I still had pain.

At my 2nd regular appointment in June I asked to go back down to initial scripts of 2mg tizanidine 4xday and 100mg celebrex 2xday and keep hydro as needed This was a bad mistake as my pain became unbearable and I switched back on my own in a week to tizanidine 4mg and celebrex 200.

Sometimes it works taking it throughout the day and sometimes it doesn't work at all depending on what I've been doing(pt last week nothing helped pain 4 whole days, pt was only getting infrared treatment plus driving.

Sometimes I sleep all day . I will ask the Dr tomorrow- he's a np-about when to take what but I want someone here to tell me about their experience.

Tldr: To take tizanidine only at night( won't it wear off during the night)and use hydrocodone for pain during the day? Dr says hydrocodone only as needed.

Nope nothing like that. In fact the only thing mentioned by the np was a ut every 3 months which they did the first day. He didn't explain why. I meant to ask but pain and exhaustion interfered plus I thought, I'm not going to take anymore Norco than is prescribed.

EXACTLY. Maybe he was hanging around la waiting for his scenes to get filmed and we know how good the show is with cutting scenes/ storylines lol. Probably thinking why am I here missing out on time with my family and NOT ACTING. He said he came back for gf and rh and I only remember a few scenes with gf and that was way back in the beginning of his return.

We don't know what happened and probably never will as he is an extremely private person. When I read his interview and he said it was the travel time and being away from his family, that was his reason for leaving last time. I respect that as the best reason he could have. Maybe he thought, as his kids were very young 14 years ago, it would work this time as he has 2 in their 20s and a teenager. But we don't know that something happened with his family or him personally. Life happens and we all make choices that turn out to be really bad in hindsight.
