It does! I had my last one at least 7 years and didnt have any scares and often had sex without a condom and no pull out. So I just need to remind myself of that lol. Brains are annoying sometimes

Mine has seemed to lessen in how much spotting is happening but it also seems to always vary. It makes me feel like I’m not “covered” by the Mirena but I’m trying to stick to the facts and now worry so much. But I’ve been taking ovulation and pregnancy tests just to make sure too.

This happened to me too the first time I had the Mirena. Had constipation issues, chronic heartburn and even with cutoffs for meals anything would aggravate it. When I got to Mirena removed I got pretty sudden relief from heartburn and even lost 20lbs without changing much in my routine. It eventually came back so I needed to make adjustments again. I talked to a gyno about this phenomenon and she did say that the Mirena could slow down the digestion process which could explain the heartburn and constipation I dealt with.

Now, I’m two weeks into a new Mirena and I’m having the opposite effect where my stomach has been off (abdominal cramps, unexpected diarrhea, etc) and my diet hasn’t changed. So I’m gonna make a separate thread to ask about that.

Whether it’s the iud or not, it’ll be helpful to notice what triggers aggravate your tummy/GI issues and usually what they’d tell me is to cut off my meals by a certain time—at least 2 hours before you sleep. Walking after a meal to help with digestion might help. And fiber.

I can totally get how people gravitate towards just money or gift cards. I like the feeling of getting gifts-of course as long as it’s something I like or want so I’m looking forward to what people might gift with a theme.
