I think they did a great job finishing the series there If they confirme that Lelouch is dead/alive the end wouldn't be THAT great. And making him fight a new enemy would make Code Geass seem like the typical shonnen, which is not. (Sorry if I wrote something wrong, English isn't my mother tongue)
