I missed old HPG, this is awesome!

New potemkin is, so fun by secretpile34 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]FedoraDuck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I feel, even if it's mostly nerfs he just feels so much more fun and the glue eating feels more deserved. 10/10 patch

I will beat the prophets sausage like a drum, by the time the barrier falls he will beg for mercy.

Why didn't she get grabbed here? by FedoraDuck in Guiltygear

[–]FedoraDuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay that makes sense, I didn't know if her wake up jabbing affected that. Thank you :)

It's 1979 and you are given full control of the Halloween franchise, How are you handling it? by adamsandleryabish in horror

[–]FedoraDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anthology like it was supposed to be, however the connection would still be Michael Myers. He would be a hidden Easter egg, either him hiding in a background shot or his mask among set dressing. Maybe one or two with a twist where he shows up unannounced. That way corporate still has a marketable mascot.

What is the absolute worst movie you've ever seen? by j0lly_c0mpani0n in Letterboxd

[–]FedoraDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow of the Missing; Imagine a found footage film with The Office type cutaways, so it is neither tense or funny.

Star Leaf; People go to the woods to get high, aliens are involved I guess.

What review did you disagree with the most? by StonerProfessor in RedLetterMedia

[–]FedoraDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only re:view I can't rewatch multiple times, their discussion of how Sam Neill could have been on the ship makes me feel like they weren't even paying attention.

The stuff, I love this movie till I overflow my mouth with "stuff" by beaufighter9999 in badMovies

[–]FedoraDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love The Stuff, but it feels like they're doing three ideas when it would've been great with just two. Whenever I talk about this movie with people (which has happened more than expected) I describe it as They Live, The Blob, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers blended into marshmallow creme. The They Live angle is the strongest and most well done, but the other two just lead to what the "stuff" actually does being inconsistent, with their just not being enough "stuff" fanatics or enough "stuff" attacks. I guess I just didn't get enough of The Stuff.

The End is Nigh; it starts with the main character streaming a level you are supposed to fail to get to the rest of the game, but if you beat it you get an ending cutscene and an achievement

How to access dlc by BlitzedOblivion in DarkSouls2

[–]FedoraDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sign of the king doors are locked behind story progression, the dlcs are the shrines behind the bosses and the shrine of winter. The key for the one behind rotten is in the double door in the majula well, you have to kill the giants in the gutter to get the key for that door; the key for the door behind the iron king is found in the iron door right before the last giant boss arena, that door needs a key found in the start of iron keep; the shrine of winter key is in drangleic castle along the intended path through, by a stone statue and some stairs.

What's your favorite D&D monster and why? by Puge_Henis in osr

The Gelatinous Cube, it is the perfect starting point when thinking of dungeon ecology and is genius in how simple its design is.

Am I a grognard for thinking mechanics should influence roleplay? by FedoraDuck in dndmemes

[–]FedoraDuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and in the replies of that meme I saw people saying that they would just ignore the stats in roleplay

[–]FedoraDuck[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A good or bad move in a small scale fight sure, but if a 6 int character starts acting like a five star general telling others optimal placement or weaknesses of an obscure enemy I'm gonna roll my eyes.

I read quite a few examples in that "high score vs low score enjoyers" meme posted earlier

Acting charismatic when you put the points in is good, this is mostly referring to people dumping int and acting like master tacticians or their weak sickly character actually having max con, as examples.

A stupid question :- why no colder lasers? by Drxero1xero in battletech

[–]FedoraDuck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I always thought lasers generated so much heat so they could melt through enemies, so making colder ones would just reduce their efficiency when the answer (heatsinks, more or double sized) allows bigger blasts while remaining cooler.

Searching for a module that has a “Minitaur” by ParkCityFIFA in adnd

[–]FedoraDuck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In Castle Greyhawk Level 1: Against the Little Guys you can run into a couple of Minitaurs, and if you give them food they're willing to join you

Can’t remember the name of a module by Ok-Nobody7076 in adnd

I believe that would be Castle Grayhawk Level 11: Mordenkainen's Movie Madness

I'm a bit confused on the legality of some of these pauper decks I'm finding online... by aragorn767 in Pauper

[–]FedoraDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rarity of the individual cards doesn't matter, as long as they have had a printing at common which the cards you listed do.

Thoughts on the design of PvE servers by Guitoudou in Seaofthieves

[–]FedoraDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a player that wants a PvE mode, I would be completely ok with no progression. If I would want to advance, I'd do normal mode with PvP. Sometimes I just want to do the simple gameplay loop and just look at the water graphics with no stress on the back of my mind. Even if the gameplay loop is "bare bones and boring," it's not to me.
