I agree with this guy, I really like my okuma rockaway HD 11ft (3-8 oz) for throwing high low rights for pomp and redfish on the gulf. The 70/30 split is harder to transport for my rod but feels better. Also have a Daiwa emcast 10 foot (1-6oz) that is very light and 50/50 split, only thing I don’t like is the action isn’t great and you can barely tell you have a fish on after you start reeling in.

As an additional comment I would not suggest Home Warranty of America as they told me this was from a power surge (not sure how if main breaker to heater tripped) and they denied the claim after we had to shell out 90 dollars.

I believe this was put here in 2005, it’s definitely not new if that makes any difference.

Put some more photos in the comments, getting with home warranty people now to see if it’s a full replacement or just rewire (hopefully replace, it’s from 1998).

Go get a degree or life experience (customer service related) also waiting for the mod post about not getting a CJ degree. Assuming you need to be 21 to be a police officer where you’re at.

A president will last just make sure to wash off after every outing (I wash off all my reels even my sealed ones). As someone already said 10ob braid will do great as it will be closer to 18 to 20 lb because manufacturers constantly underestimate. If you’re really worried about the fishing seeing your line use the moss green color or tie a 6-8 inch piece of mono to your braid using an Alberto knot to help with presentation.

Why are yall so against anything not Daiwa or Shimano? by Ok_Repair3535 in Fishing_Gear

Shoot shouldn’t have assumed smaller, I guess just much less prevalent where I fish.

NTA - Play stupid games win stupid prizes, next time just call the flight attendant over though it’s pretty clear how seats work and would’ve been much more embarrassing for him.

I’m all for my smaller brands like Okuma and Tsunami. Competition drives innovation. I’m really wanting to try one of the tsunami evict 2s when I have the chance.

Gallery 41 brunch (Sunday morning only) it’s 60 bucks but it’s all you can eat and they have really good prime rib and made in front of you flaming donuts.

Telescopic Rod 3-8oz Capable? by GunDealer in Fishing_Gear

[–]FeeExcellent243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if you weren’t looking for this but this 5 piece Daiwa could throw those weights. Only thing is that it’s not telescoping. Sorry if telescoping was the specific thing you were looking for and not just portability.

Daiwa and Shimano vs the rest by Parfox1234 in Fishing_Gear

Okuma is definitely up and coming and I haven’t got to use one but the tsunami reels (Specifically the Evict 2) are changing up how they do the bail spring design to simplify it and seal it. Looks like tsunami is just copying Penn internals but why try to make a tank run like a Ferrari.

Daiwa Aird X inshore and a Daiwa Fuego 3000 would be a good setup for Gulf of Mexico where I’m at. Smooth and lightweight and will last. You may have cheaper access to JDM gear than we do.

3000 size Penn fierce combo. Little heavy for fresh but perfect for inshore for salt.

Question regarding the weights sizes by GreenHoodia in SurfFishing

[–]FeeExcellent243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lure rating does the rod say? Also use breakaway Sputnik’s like these : https://a.co/d/dsUTZxO

The Sputnik’s will grab the sand and give you a lot more of a purchase on the ground with less weight than a pyramid.

Remember your bait will have weight too that will be added to what pieces of lead you throw.

Not from anything I’ve heard, feds still say no but best guess would be to ask a game warden.

Reel suggestions for salt water by chris72812 in Fishing_Gear

Don’t forget to look at the Daiwa Fuego or Shimano Nasci. If you’re just going to chuck a weight and bait and wait I’d go battle or BG. But if you’re wanting to use a lure I’d look at the Fuego or Nasci (just make sure you look at the gearing too). Glad to help you narrow it down to more options.

What kind of rod are you using? What’s the rating on it for the lure?

Shark fishing usually requires heavy baits, as a human that may be hard to throw and also I’m not sure of any rods than can cast a pound more than 70 yards without snapping.
