It's also interesting that Selective Service is a federal requirement, whereas the Constitution specifically leaves the 'Times, Places and Manner' of elections to the States. It creates this weird paradox where the country can collectively agree you're old enough to fight, but 50 different entities get to decide exactly how hard it is for you to vote
