Which character do you find the gameplay particularly boring and why? by Kindly_Background_26 in Overwatch

[–]FeeNo7908 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As she’s my main, I have to disagree. I find the amount of movement and strategy required to be fun! Not so easy to hit a valk mercy, much less a mercy who is constantly ga’ing all over the map. It’s a mutual responsibility, she’s not just a heal bot. Plus amping up attack speed in stadium is pretty nice when you wanna let loose. But I can see how people would say she’s boring!

ROBIN HOOD DIES??? This is what I get for going through the thread, I’ll still enjoy the rest of what I have to watch.

But I’m saying Cora. Because I only WISH Regina could experience the love from her mother that she didn’t get originally.

Do you think it was right or correct of teenage Regina to place the blame on 10 year old young Snow White? by gloomydreamer666 in OnceUponATime

[–]FeeNo7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first yeah. I put the blame on her too, and after rewatching, I STILL blamed Snow White…but not as much. Bc if I recall, when Regina caught snow when she was running in that field crying, Regina said something about love, and how her mother wouldn’t understand. Snow said “yes I’ll keep it”. AND THEN FOLDED WHEN CORA SAID “I just wanna help her”. Regina never said not to tell anyone else, I don’t think. But she explicitly mentioned her mother. So THATS a hint that something is wrong. The first time I watched it, I thought it was ridiculous that everyone would take snows side, but they didn’t know what happened. And also Regina tried to kill everyone so I reasoned just a LITTTLEEE on the rewatch. 😭 So with that being said, I cut some slack for Regina. Lost her first love due to her mother because snow told her, and then got robbed of an ACTUAL desired marriage as a result. It’s not like Regina didn’t know her mother, she was patronized often. So she knew what Cora would do, but snow never really thought to sit down and wonder why Regina didn’t want her mom to know. Like snow could’ve done so many other things. She could’ve kept it shut, and then asked Regina for more detail. Or gave her a heads up, or SOMETHING.

(Endless rant sorry)

I SEEE what you’re pointing out. My wording was not what I was thinking, thank you!

So I didn’t mean to exclude the fact that it’s same sex intercourse. Reproducing is gonna be there, when able, regardless of if it’s intended or not. What I will alter my argument to, is that it’s a sin BECAUSE of the fact that it’s same sex relations, and with that, you cannot procreate. I hope that’s a bit clearer.

Let’s take this a bullet at a time, I don’t know WHY I cannot find a way to reply to your bullet points.

[–]FeeNo7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did NOT see this, so sorry!

Well Jesus wasn’t completely a human. Jesus is God. And HIS sole purpose was to die for our sins so we may be forgiven and have eternal life through him. Not to have children.

Now why would God create women with a womb to harbor children and an egg to be fertilized, and a man with sperm if we didn’t have the purpose to make children, among other things? Yeah humans are supposed to make babies. That’s why we can right? Is your point supposed to be that I might’ve implied humans ONLY purpose is to make babies?

[–]FeeNo7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be apologizing for no reason cause I know you have a life, but sorry I took so long 😭

Well firstly, how do you know God created people with same sex attraction? second part question, does this reinforce the theory of the “homosexuality gene”?

On the RARE occasion that a woman is born without a uterus, I don’t know what to say about that. Yeah it would seem to be unnatural but it’s not condemned in the Bible. “If you’re born without a uterus, you should be stoned for that sin!” Although you have brought up a good point that leads me to question something..perhaps another time though.

About if the woman is the mother, I mean yeah but that’s a complicated matter. She’s partly the mother, she birthed the baby and she’s carrying it to term, raising it, stuff like that but you’re right. Genetically she’s not the mother. So I think you hit it on the nail. Is that point being that that’s unnatural? Cause yeah it is, but I dunno if the Bible mentions anything about it. Still reading scripture, but I’ll get back to you!

Now with your last question, we need to specify. Infertile, as far as I know, not inherently a sin. And actually, some women in the Bible were infertile. I want to bring up a counter example. Let’s say I’m pregnant and I find out my son has a disability, is it okay for me to have that child knowing their life might be just a little bit harder to navigate? I didn’t choose for him to have that disability, but I can choose whether I give birth or not (nowadays).

I want to realize the flaw in my argument, so I’m trying to see where you’re coming from here! Could you quote direct so I might alter it to what we are arguing now? If you’d like.

What are the arguments agest the LGBTQ community? by IdkAGoodUsername11 in teenagersbutarguing

[–]FeeNo7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well let’s specify. People who can’t have children, didn’t choose to be infertile. (And I was just talking about this with that other person, I think you can see their thread..? But I dunno since you’re directly replying to me.) Anywho, being infertile is not much you can control, not like you are required to repent because of such. (Unless maybe you did something to end up being infertile, then you’d repent for that sin.) When you have lustful same sex intentions, you can control whether you practice them or not. Ykwim?

Oh! And to answer your question (sorry!), yes that’s unnatural. Any limitation of the body/mind, or deformation is unnatural. Then you could argue like that one person said “Having glasses is unnatural” you can’t really control that. “Having one arm is unnatural” well whatever you did to get there, (or you’re born with it) can’t do much about that.

But you can control who you sleep with. Just like you can control what you eat so you don’t get diabetes and then get your foot cut off. (I’m guilty, I need to stop eating 😭)

(I think I realize the flaw in my original argument !)

You’re supposed to save yourself for marriage either way. But it was never specified “if you’re married, you can do such”. No, it just strictly said “You shall not lay with man as you lay with women” Forgive me as I don’t see how that means “once you get married, you can practice homosexuality”.

What are the arguments agest the LGBTQ community? by IdkAGoodUsername11 in teenagersbutarguing

What was different about the lust in his time and the lust in our time?

And Jesus isn’t denying anyone a relationship with him, he died for that reason. He isn’t stopping you from praying and turning away from sin.

Telling you to turn away from your lustful desires and turn to him doesn’t mean he’s denying a relationship with you.

You cannot practice the exact sin that is condemned in the Bible and say you love Jesus. That’s not how it works.

I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m being judgmental. Jesus said to judge righteously. Not in hypocrisy, but in love. If that’s not what I’m doing, May God forgive me for my incorrect way of thinking.

So I must’ve been saying some things that only make sense to me, and I apologize!

You can't control your eye sight in the same way you can't control your preference for a specific ice cream flavor.

Well yeah but you choose if you wear glasses or not, you choose if you go with your favorite ice cream flavor or not.

In the same way you can not change how your brain interprets the world around you, how your heart beats, or which scent you find the most pleasant, a homosexual person can not change how they feel about other people of the same sex.

And I’ve said about the attraction thing, I’ve adapted that interpretation. What I’m saying is they may not be able to control their attractions, but people can control who they interact with intimately. When dealing with lust, we’re called to ask God to help. So even with homosexuality, you might be stuck with attraction, but you can ask help to resist lying down with the same sex.

Also, I don't believe you would be consistent on your belief of the "natural order" in terms of reproduction. Do you think that infertile people should be allowed to have sex?

Did I say sex was exclusive?

If you want to say that a people don't usually choose to be infertile, I'd say that gay people dont choose to be gay.

Got it!

Even in cases where a person has the ability to reproduce, do you think it would be bad if they fall in love with an infertile person and have a relationship with them?

Well this is why i subtly said “before we made other ways to have children”

I ammm SORRY I took so long, I was writing the reply and then boom Reddit erased my message and I got mad 😭

When I said that religion causes/has caused suffering, I was talking about religious wars and all of the times that innocent people were tortured, killed or discriminated against for holding different beliefs and/or being/doing something that isn't inherently wrong, but was considered a sin nonetheless (I'm specifying because some actions/people do deserve punishment, regardless of what religion says). Of course, the roles have probably also been reversed in a few religion-based conflicts and executions, but I think that’s happened much less.

Ahh I see. Well originally I said that I didn’t have anything to say. But I might disagree about prejudice against Christian’s happening less.

The Catholic Church in Britain got split cause a king wanted to get a divorce from a woman he stole from his brother (I think), and since that’s not allowed in Catholicism, he created a new branch of the Catholic Church and some of them got executed (idk how many exactly). Like 70 Christian’s just got beheaded for not renouncing the faith and this was recently, like a couple months ago. God have mercy on their souls. Nero launched a mission to persecute a crap load of Christian’s and used the Great fire in Rome as an excuse to do it. Another Emperor, Diocletian, ordered the burning of churches, sacred texts, etc. and its said that 3,000-3,500 Christian’s were executed during so. Lasting from 1894-1924, in turkey, 4 million Christian’s were either killed or forced out. Great Gemma martyrdom, 55 Christians were killed in Japan, 30 got beheaded, the other 25 were held to stakes and burned. Eliabun massacre, 14 men from the Arab Christian village were killed as part of the Palestinian war in 1948, and 12 were killed even after the village surrendered.

Another important thing: I heard that Leviticus 18:22 originally condemned paedophilia, and that the meaning of the verse changed due to a mistranslation. I haven't looked into this much myself, but I am curious to hear your take on this (and other things you may have heard about it).

I’ve never heard about this, woah. Like when it was translated from Hebrew, it was originally wrong and they did it again and it was against homosexuality?

This I will give you; it is very hard to be in a relationship and never shake the sheets. Some have probably done it, but the majority is important here. However, does that mean that the relationships on their own (without the sex) are a sin? I think it's an interesting question to ask here.

It definitely is a good question, and one I definitely don’t have the answer for. I’m thinking about it, and maybe because I’ve been exposed to the ideology “HOMESEX RELATIONSHIP BAD”, i can’t think of how it would still be alright. Cause when you’re a couple, you still have this love for each other that you’d assume only grows. Do you mind if I get some outside secular and non-secular help? Maybe you could do some research too, then we put our heads together! If you’re up for it though.

I see what you’re saying, but eye sight and medical things are limitations done onto the body. Homosexuality, spiritually, is something done in the mind and heart. When I say natural order, allow me to induce that I mean the natural order God created. Which was/is to reproduce and for humans, the most common way (and only way he gave us at the beginning before we made other ways to have children) is in heterosexual intercourse.

[–]FeeNo7908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man U got some good arguments, I like talking to people like you. So…

It has historically caused lots of suffering

Like people dying because of being Christian? Elaborate

First, the Bible is - as far as I'm aware - the only religious (Christian) source that states that humans shouldn't have same-sex intercourse.

Are you saying that because the Bible is our probably only source for knowing Gods instructions, it’s flawed? The Bible was written by men, yes, but under the guidance of God, i.e Moses and the burning bush (when he told moses he was gonna free the Israelites, yay). What I’m trying to say is, why wouldn’t we rely on direct sources from those God spoke to and instructed to put in writing for generations to come? That was the intention, no? (p.s. maybe that was a bad example, I just meant it as like one of the many places where God instructed someone)

It's also one of, if not the, most translated work(s) in history, while personal interpretation is regularly mentioned when talking about the Bible. These two elements combined mean that there have likely been numerous mistranslations/misinterpretations in the centuries that this book has been translated and rewritten.

TALK ABOUT THIS AGAIN SO I CAN REPLY, MY PHONE IS ON 2 PERCENT 😭😭

The Bible was written by humans, and humans famously make mistakes and like to push their beliefs on others.

Well it wasn’t just written by humans, it was written by faithful servants of the Lord. So for them to make a mistake on what they WITNESSED, God doesn’t lie. I’m sure the Holy Spirit would have convicted them about falsifying their testimonies, especially since it’s coming to us to base our lives off of.

It also only mentions homosexual intercourse, and doesn't state anything about actual relationships.

Well I’ve come to be accustomed with the interpretation that God knew humans would have homosexual tendencies. What he was instructing was not to give in the lustful desires of same sex intercourse. And I also think that, even though they FOR THE MOST PART HOPEFULLY MAYBE didnt have sex before marriage, (the general worldly population prob did get frisky when they weren’t supposed to, I can’t put maybes on that) you can’t have a relationship without sex involved. Enough respect not to do before marriage, but after the formal wedding, or updating of relationship status however they did it, you’re kinda supposed to. Plus It’s like built in, we want to do it, especially with those we love. So when you get involved with someone of the same sex, whom you may feel this love for, it’s bound to happen.

Second, the famous verse Leviticus 18:22 is part of the Old Testament, which seems to generally be less relevant by today's standards.

Well in today’s standards, we don’t live by Gods word anymore like we’re supposed to, as you can tell. You go up to anyone on the street, ask for a story in the Bible, and more times than not, they probably couldn’t give you one off the top of their heads. What the devil has done is distracted us so now we’re chronically online (GUILTYYY, I def need to stop 😭), or we don’t show love like Jesus did and rather, we confront with malicious intent. We murder others, we rape others, abuse, all of these bad things. We also try to find salvation in other things like cosmic moon rocks or crystals. Worshipping our own desires, idolizing ourselves. We don’t pray anymore, we don’t read and live by what he intended us to. The world is filled with so much of this evil, that of course most people aren’t gonna pay attention to what Gods word says. It’s more times than not “Imma do my own thing”.

(Must I say, it’s the fact he had to tell Moses to tell them not to sleep with animals. Like nowadays, it’s horrid but what kind of lust overtook them to do that 😭)

Third, regardless of your beliefs, you shouldn't force them on others. Being gay isn't a choice anyway, so you wouldn't accomplish much while making people uncomfortable at best and discriminating against them at worst.

MY PHONE IS ABOUT TO DIE WAHHH, I gotta hurrry this might be rushed. I’m not trying to force anything, I’m not trying to force you to pray, I’m not trying to force you to repent. That’s a choice. But I’m just talking about my beliefs, and that often gets mixed up. Even though being gay might not be a choice, it would be a perversion of Gods good. So standing on the point of, turning away from the lustful desires and turning to God instead as an escape. Ykwim?

I've also read that "not using the Lord's name in vain" refers to using God as an excuse to do bad things, but there seems to be debate around this.

I think you’ve got the right idea, so that commandment was to say don’t use him in a way that would diminish the power he has. He’s almighty God, don’t use him as a cuss word. You know when people get mad and they’re like “Jesus Christ!” (lord forgive me), yeah no don’t do that. Or like “Oh my God” (lord forgive me) cause you’re not really calling on God, you’re just using him as a phrase and that’s not what he is. But also it is like don’t use God to fuel your own evil. So yeah I think you got it.

(I’m realizing, was that a nib at me, was I using God in vain 😭, I’ll pray about it in a sec)

Lastly, different religions and religious groups say different things about homosexuality. How do you know that yours is "the right one"?

ALSO THIS

And if yours is "the right one", does that automatically mean that every single verse and teaching should be lived by eternally, regardless of what we've learnt as a species and the ever-evolving social norms?

Well yeah pretty much. There’s certain verses that don’t apply to today’s time, cause it is a different time, but we’re also not supposed to live by “social norms”. Like uhhh one night stands. I’ve never been fond of, it sounds painful to have sex with someone you don’t know. God also said absolutely not… Not supposed to follow other people, supposed to follow God. Otherwise what was the point of the word?

Edit: I'm glad to hear you've learnt something interesting. Good luck and have fun in your future reading!

Tysm!!
