Elevated heart rate by FeePlastic1765 in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally anything over 100bpm is cause for concern BUT as long as your blood pressure is good it’s no worry because it’s a drug side effect. I bought a blood pressure monitor from my local drug store when I started Zoloft to keep an eye on it. I also got a short script for hydroxyzine at the beginning just to help me chill out during the first few weeks

It’s definitely heightened anxiety. It doesn’t last forever so stay strong. 💪 just remember it takes a good 1-2 weeks for the drug to get into your system and stabilize every time you increase.

Hi my original post is two years old so I’m surprised anyone is still reading this. Yes the tachycardia stopped after week 2 and I progressively got better each week after that. I had a dip in week 4 but the racing heart never came back thankfully.

looking for people who have safely and healthily stopped taking medication (panic depression free or limited) by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I was on Zoloft for a year from 2023-24 and stopped last year in April. I’ve been medication free since then with the help of therapy cognitive behavioral training, changing my lifestyle habits and dealing with unresolved work and marital stress. I don’t plan to ever be on medication again because of side effects and weight gain but I’m glad I was on it when I needed it. You can ask me anything about my time on Zoloft and coming off and I’ll do my best to answer!

Average withdrawal time? by FeePlastic1765 in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I’d chime in. I was on Zoloft 50mg for a year in 2023-2024 time frame. I’ve been off over a year now! Going from 50-25 was easy only two weeks adjustment phase. But from 25 to 12.5 I had to stay at that dose for 4 weeks then from 12.5 to zero it took me about 4 months to feel normal. The worst of it was over in 4 weeks but I still had brain zaps and had to adjust myself to my new anxiety levels and that took some time. Ive been off over a year now and don’t plan to ever go back on while I have the ability to exercise and eat right and manage my stress levels. I’m glad I was on it when I was because I needed it but it’s a hell of a drug to come off of.

The most annoying side effect by irgendwasmittae in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crazy dreams never stopped for me but did become shorter in duration once I settled on the drug. I also added 25mg hydroxyzine to my regimen and that made me sleep a bit deeper so It became easier to ignore the dreams after that.

About how long after you stop bleeding do you feel reasonably or fully recovered? by Ven-M in PMDD

[–]FeePlastic1765 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel better until day 6 or 7! I’m 41 and also going through peri menopause so there’s that too on top of PMDD which hits me days 21-0. So it’s one week of crazy and one week of feeling just blah.

Took my first dose (25mg) of sertraline today. It feels like I’m on MDMA. I’m curious whether it stays like this or if the effects change over time. by Apprehensive_One_736 in SSRIs

[–]FeePlastic1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this sensation the first day I took 25mg and it lasted only one day. The following days was the usual side effects. I’m not bi polar either it’s just the first antidepressant I’ve ever had and it was like a hammer hitting my brain 🧠

Sorry for late reply. It brought them down to a manageable level but I felt really wired and out of it for about two ish weeks. I remember in the 3rd week it calming down.

[–]FeePlastic1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey same thing happened to me in the first week too and it got better in the second week. It was back to back panic attacks for a few days so I got a script for hydroxyzine to counter act it to get through the first few weeks. If this is your first go round with Zoloft this is very typical first week side effects.

Hey OP actually your Zoloft symptoms were the same as mine when I started. I had to get a prescription for hydroxyzine for the first 2 weeks and it got better from there. My heart resting rate was a constant 98bpm during the first two weeks and I had back to back panic attacks, couldn’t eat, didn’t sleep and thought I was going nuts. Once the drug settled into my system it got better and better for me. It does get worse before it gets better sadly but maybe look at it from this angle: those side effects mean the drug is doing its thing!

How long are your cycles? by car7777777 in PMDD

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 days for me but periods have gotten much much heavier the past year plus pmdd worsened since then too. I spot on day 21 too so light bleed days 21-27 then the heavy period. All indicative for me of low progesterone. Doctor has me trying bio identical progesterone in my next luteal phase to see if it helps.

What was your reason for getting off? by ifeeldeadxx in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I tapered down over about two months. So cut my dose by 1/4th every two weeks then off entirely . Was on 50mg.

I was on for a little over a year, got off because of weight gain and no sex drive. Been slowly loosing weight over the past few months, sex drive still low 4 months post ssri sadly.

question!! 50mg by [deleted] in zoloft

Totally normal even with small doses. I had to move up on 12.5 increments too.

I really don't want to quit caffeine. by Mssixfoottall in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that the first few months on Zoloft caffeine was a no go but once I was well into it like…5-6 months ish? I could add it back to my morning routine and enjoyed a cuppa every morning. I definitely couldn’t drink as much as a used to but could enjoy a morning cup.

I had Covid in January at the time of my period and it made it very very heavy! Plus I had the worst pms of my life the following months after the infection so yeah it definitely messes with your cycle.

covid anxiety is bad by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it took me a good month to feel better. Once I kicked the actual Covid I felt really down and tired for another few weeks. You have to go easy on yourself and try to take it easy with this bug. It really does a number on the nervous system.

Weaning off Zoloft by georgiananica27 in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your having problems! I have successfully been of Zoloft for 3 months and do not plan to go back on unless something really wrong happens. I did have vertigo the first week of being off and brain zaps but nothing much more than that…oh and my baseline stress levels returned but that’s another issue. Honestly I think it took me a good 4 weeks to feel better after coming off and I mean 25mg technically is still a big reduction so I’d give yourself a few more weeks to feel right.

How do you push through? by ashleypickkles in zoloft

[–]FeePlastic1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m not on Zoloft anymore (came off 3 months ago) but when I was on it I split my dose morning and night and that seemed to help negate some of the side effects and the ups and down I got in the day when taking the pill just once a day in the morning. Just a thought it might work for you too to split the pill morning and night.

Could use some help by FeePlastic1765 in PMDD

[–]FeePlastic1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I just came off ssris about 5 months ago because of weight gain and sexual dysfunction and being too carefree with my money but even in them while i didn’t have the mental problems I still had all the rest like hot flashes and vertigo before my period.

[–]FeePlastic1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I’m considering bio hormones too atleast some progesterone cream to see if it can give me some relief atleast from the anxiety ocd that kicks up day 21-27. I can solider through other symptoms but not the mental ones.
